Someone tried to break in my tailgate

Yes this experience is lead me to that thought. What is your set-up?

 

Papi you were pretty dead in with your assessment. I will buy the locking cylinder unit from Toyota, then call the locksmith over to make my old blade key in the fob useable. He said he can do it, but not sure how. I didn’t think a locksmith would do all the work of unbolting the plastic panel from the tailgate and etc.

 

Honestly I think it's better to have a separate set of keys for the tailgate. I hate removing key from my fob when I lock/unlock the tailgate, IMO.

 

I dont understand what Toyota Corporate is going to do about it..

 

I'd love the shotgun route but the only thing illegal in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia is stopping people from stealing your stuff.

It’s the dealer name. One of the bigger ones in the South Bay.

 

Just put I pop-n-lock on it. I don't even use my tailgate key. Or remember where it is...doh.

Dont forget to make sure it's front/rear and get the extra add-a-fuse part to power from tbe fuse box vs the 12v cig lighter. And here's a link to my write up on my build thread:

I also added KTJO4x4's tailgate lock and an anti-theft bracket, both found on the first page of my build thread ( parts list ).

 

Nooo LOL... not that serious about it.. it's an old Browning my father gave to me too many years ago LOL
