Stripped! OME UCA0005 Upper Control Arms

Anyone have this issue:
went to lube upper ball joint, removed protective cap and threads pulled out with the bolt (looks like 1/4-28 socket head). Both sides. Apx torque applied when installed 10ft/lbs.
kit installed 1-14-21.
OME has 3yr warranty. Arbusa.com/warranty

 

did you call arb customer service? they are usually pretty helpful if you where the one that purchased the parts new from one of their reputable distributors

yep, thought I was only going to get apx 2in of lift. Ended up with 3.75in over stockNow def needs larger tire to fill wheel well... also the lift is larger OME springs, struts, and UACs, AAL rear.

Same thing just happened to me, luckily its only the last thread so zerk still screws in, the bolt + cap do not.

Short Answer: Well that kinda sucks... oh well.

Long Answer: Called ARB and they said they would replace under warranty.... but would need to warranty both UCAs as they were purchased as a set. Additional info I got was (as suspected) cap is only there to protect the zerk fitting from the fairly random case where something could jam up there and break it... My plan.... run it with zerk, maybe try to put silicone adhesive and affix cap that way. I'm not super interested in pulling both UCAs back out and waiting for warranty. There is a replacement part for Ball joint, if I do happen to break off zerk, UCASP013, replace as necessary.
