Here are several photos of the infamous oil leak. Thought on the exact location of the leak?

Yes, clean it up with foaming engine degreaser and water. There are dyes you can put in the oil that make it easy to see with a black light and/or glasses.

Mines been leaking for years but never drips. This year on going to take of power steering pump and put (the right stuff) gasket sealer along the cover and where it meets the block. Ive heard some guys have had success doing that. Too big of a job for me and too expensive for shop to do.

Good to hear it worked. Taking timing cover off is a lot of work vs some sealant on exterior seam

Where at exactly was it leaking? I'm assuming you did an external patch/sealant job?

I did not take the timing cover off. I followed the instruction from an old post here that had the same issue. The seeping oil was originating from the upper end of the timing cover between two bolts that have a wide span between them. I cleaned it well and "patched" the approx 2 inches of the seam. This "fix" has always been intended to be temporary. I know I will have to eventually do the work when I will remove the timing cover and fix it correctly.

I'm grateful it has worked so well. I simply don't have the funds or time to pull the timing cover just for that leak. There may be a time where something major will force me to do that. Until then.... My truck now has over 160K and still runs like a champ without leaks!

I'm pretty sure that is the common leak that happened in the 4.0L engines on the timing cover next to the power steering pump. The dealer ship wanted to charge me over $4000 since my truck was out of warranty for the TSB. Another shop offered me $800 for labor but I had to get the other parts. I found a video where someone used bluedevil oil stop leak to stop the leak and so far it worked on my truck.

The PCV Valve was completely clogged. I admit I failed to check it for a year or more. I think this also contributed to oil seepage due to higher pressure in the case. It is documented that a clogged PCV valve can cause seals and gaskets to fail and to cause sludge. CHECK YOUR PCV VALVE
