Mystery door jamb sticker

Picked up my 2017 TRD sport last weekend. The only visible mods are tonneau cover and chrome exhaust tip . I can't imagine what this is?

Payload capacity is reduced by whatever options/packages were installed at the factory or port.
So your truck can carry a payload 53 pounds less than what the other sticker says.
Payload includes you and any other items/people placed in/on the truck.

 

My truck had that from the factory because of the 26lb running boards. After all the modifications I’ve done, I’m about 70lbs over the factory weight.

 

Ok. Mine has factory running boards and bed cover so that explains it. Thanks for the help.

 

The yellow sticker is added at the regional distribution facility for all the "port" installed accessories. It's derating the white factory sticker for the added accessory weight.

 

I believe they are OE pieces?

I think you are confusing payload with pay to dump your load!

 

I get one of those slapped on passive-aggressively every time I take it in for the included service. Comes right off no problem.

 

Smart move by the Manufacture, seeing that many people over load a truck and if any litigation comes down the pipe they are covered
by it when Mr. Customers legal team states ( He ) was unaware of the Rating change due to ' Added ' equipment

 

Thanks, I was wondering what that was for, because of the sticker you posted I have figured it out. If the options add weight over standard equipment you get the yellow sticker.

An office building full of lawyers decided that sticker was neccessary

 

They really wasted their time with mine.

 

I couldn't find the thread... But around 2009 someone noticed Toyota wasn't counting the weight of Port added stuff.
They asked Toyota about it and the response was apparently underwhelming, so the person went to the NHSTA.
NHSTA thought they really should have the correct labeling and the yellow stickers was their solution.
The yellow sticker for my 2009 succumbed to wet weather and was removed since you couldn't figure out what it stated anyway.

Went out and looked for mine, pretty well loaded sport, mine has 5lb on it. I have the factory tonneau and mud flaps, guessing the 5 is for the mud flaps only? Why not the cover?

 

Like everything else service-wise, the dealer half-assed it.
