I just asked my insurance guy what he thinks the best approach is.

I can do what they're asking and give them a new bill of sale with that mysterious VIN he had on the RTA and give them the old registration and chance that they get picky about the old reg not having a VIN. Or, I can get them an RTA without a VIN which would make none of that matter - but then I chance the same person getting it and it looking like I'm trying to pull something shady.

The thing to worry about with the lights being on the gate is not the removal or them not being right at the back (that's fine BTW, the cheapie one's at the home improvement stores are like that new) is that your lights will not be facing traffic as your gate is down. They will be facing the ground! That is a major issue.

At least the ground will know when he's stopping... half the idiots on the road have no functioning brake lights on their damned vehicles...

I was thinking he wouldn't be driving with the ramps down, though, and I would assume very unlikely to be loading or unloading roadside, but then again - application matters! I know what I would be using a trailer for, and that's why I don't have one - don't have the need for one. (That's a lie, potentially...might set one up to move kayaks....)

It was the loading/unloading that I was talking about. I hope no one is driving with their tailgates down!

Especially true on trailers. Lucky to see one of the lights flickering on and off as it goes down the road.

I was thinking maybe something like this could happen This looks like a lift system but in the position it's in now, it's tied up, the lights could be facing downward a bit.

I think that's because most people wire them with the ground to the trailer (needs to then go through the hitch) rather than through the harness

28 footers. They call them pups. 48 and 53 footers are called vans.

EDIT. BTW you can pull double 48's but you can't pull double 53's

is this something you'd ever be able to take your son/kids out with you on a run? Or is no one allowed along like that? I'd understand if you couldn't...but maybe a long day run with him could be fun if it was possible.

It's not possible. They don't even have another seat! There's just a big metal chain box next to me

That is just a pair of springs, to assist with lifting/lowering.
Still needs to be clipped in.

For the lights, I'd either leave them on the gate, and add a pair of weatherpacks plugs.
Or, just attach them to the fender, or further back next to the gate.

My open utility trailer, I moved the plate to the gate, and will probably do the same with the tail lights next time one gets damaged.

    My enclosed, no problem.

    On registration...
In mass, if I was doing it is "homemade", I wouldn't even do a bill of sale.
They just ask for a rough build cost for taxes, and axle weight.
FWIW, I have one registration that is homemade, and the enclosed has a vin/title.

Yeah, even the Aussies mostly limit it to 1 53 footer and a pair of smaller ones.

Although I have seen them hauling 4 shorties, too.

Guys, I don't want to jinx myself and give up too much details, but there is potential for an extremely exciting thing to happen at my place mid-may. I will know more later, and am getting a site visit the 21st of this month. Company is awaiting approval from the over lords, but we've been told 90%.
    :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Turns out my cousin grew up down the road from a guy who plans PR events and testing for off road vehicles out on the west coast, and for some reason are considering a town near us to stay and do a on road/off road test for journo's. He reached out to get my number, and I called back as soon as I heard the message. We would be used as a lunch stop, off road drive site.

Display vehicles parked on my lawn that are not for sale! Set ups you've only read about but can't even buy yet! I can be there for it all and creep! This guy was trying to sell me! I told him to cut it out, I'm all fucking for it, lets go!!!!!:mudding::mudding:

Wish me luck, because if it happens you all will be reading about it on all your favorite car sites and I will allow whoever would want, to come drive the course they would build out back on some days that don't disrupt our weddings :eek::eek:

Anyone looking to sell any predator steps to fit a 2021 double cab? Would be open to considering other steps. Located on Cape Cod. (NO LONGER LOOKING)
