I will also add this. I was researching on ancestry.com and came across a book that was published in 1912 that listed my grandmothers name in it. I downloaded a copy of it and it contained my roots from my maternal grandmother back to my 8th great grandfather who was captured in the final battle of the English civil war. He fought with the Scottish Royalist forces and unfortunately, they lost the war. He was sent to Boston in 1652 as an indentured servant. Two of his decendants, a priest and a professor did the research and backed it up with documentation and published a book about it. This was some mind blowing shit to read and I was hooked. You never know what you’re going to find. There are literally tens of thousands of people out there that descend from this guy and most of them probably don’t even know about it. It’s like that all the way down the line to you.

Wasn’t from me. First time I heard that one. Always some young whippersnapper coming to town to challenge the champ.

The toughest part for me was my grandmother was one of twenty four children. When they grew up and each one of them had children they named them after their brothers and sisters. So you might find 6 or 8 with the same name.

Same here. Huge families. Lots of Millers out there. Even German ones. The big families stopped with my moms generation. Hell, she was born in 1941. Before she was a year old, she had 2 brothers fighting in WWII. None of my moms siblings had more than 4 kids.

Oh, and how can I leave this one out? Ancestry has also brought to light that my wife is also my cousin.:eek::eek::eek:
    :anonymous:

I knew there was a reason for my kids looking so goofy.

My wife is going through her ancestry and just found a will from one of her relatives, he was giving away slaves, one to each of his kids and like 3 or 4 to his wife.
