I just purchased a 2021 Tacoma Limited. I want a dash cam installed.

I do *NOT* want visible wires.

Is there a system that can tie into the existing cameras that are built into the vehicle?

I didn't see anything in that thread that talked about tying a dash cam into the existing cameras on the vehicle.

    Did I miss something? o_O

    Welcome.

I believe @mrtonyd was trying to give you a link to something you can do to add a dashcam behind your rear view mirror to have no wires showing. But of course you need to purchase a dashcam and the adapter.

However, I don't believe there is anything that can tie in the existing cameras. Even if you could, the installed cameras work for what is needed of them, but I would not rely on their quality for recording regardless.

yea my bad thought you wanted to add a camera. no easy way that ive seen. you can potentially run an anytime camera mod and add something to record everything behind the console.

I wonder if the lane assist camera has a looping memory? If so I wonder if it is accessible. We might have a built in dash cam without knowing it.

Right now car manufacturers don't offer built-in dash cams other than a few like Tesla, BMW, Audi and Benz.
Most of them purchase aftermarket dash cams and brand them as their own.
Even Tesla's video quality is poor so I would go for a reliable dash cam brand like Thinkware.

You can hardwire your dash cam to hide the cables it's not a big deal.
