Did a dash cam install video with initial thoughts. I went with the Garmin mini dash cam and for the price you can’t go wrong. If you want like and subscribe. More videos to come

I just put a Garmin 65 Drivesmart in the truck and was thinking of getting this camera myself.

I want to put that on my 2020 SR. I don't have a wire going to my rearview mirror. Does anyone know if that wire is tucked under the headliner? Or for the lower model do they just not run that wire?

I am not sure on that one. My guess is they did not run they to the location.

Through the app or anything it connects with. Most dash cams don't have a screen on them. It would be distracting.

I use the escort M1. I can see it live on my ipad or phone when driving if I want but usually I'll pull the SD card and upload everything to my PC if I want it. You don't even know the camera is there otherwise.

Hey @RuckusTRDPro- sweet! Would you mind linking the exact product? I dig that it plugs into the wiring harness of the rearview camera and records that as well. I guess that's a universal connector..? or did you have to specify your truck when buying it?

    Thanks

I have the same camera powered by the dongle connected to the mirror. I almost had to actually work to do the install.

Now you may not think that’s a big deal, but I retired so I wouldn’t have to worry

the links are in video also. I would just unplug yours to ensure same pin count.

Man reading some of those reviews.. this thing either works really well, or tries to melt the whole harness and throw Check Engine lights. Nevertheless I’m interested to try it- seems like some people are getting lemons.

I don’t think this harness will work with my 2013. Can’t confirm they have the same mirror plug..

Ive had mine about 3 months, no issue with overheating or anything else. Video quality is decent as well. Just waiting until i am able to record something interesting I see on the road that hopefully doesn't involve my truck.

I would like to know more about the overheating issue with the dongal. I also have been unsuccessful in removing the cap over the 12 pin socket, can anyone help with that? Thanks.
