Hello - it seems that my bed has slightly shifted to the driver side - meaning, the cab on the passenger side seems to stick out a bit further - than on the driver side.

not much, but enough for us who are OCD.

    1. is this something I can adjust on a 3rd gen? (if so, how?)
    2. is this something that just happens if you're lifted (2'' lift)?
    3. I'm hoping it's just the bed, not the cab -

any info or help is welcome.

    thanks!

Yup sounds like taco lean. My driver side is 1 inch lower then passenger and that includes both the bed and the cab after lifting.

People add spacers to fix this when they want it done cheap and dont off road much.

Your frame is not bent, it's not Taco lean. The beds are simply held in place by bolts that were either not tightened enough (so some off road just shifted it to the side), or when they put the truck together they just didn't align it (and you never noticed). EASY fix, The beds on the 3rd Gen Tacoma are notorious for shifting to one direction or the other. The bit head is a large star (just look at them in your bed) and needs to be purchased. Simply losen them all and slide the bed over. OR !!!!!! Do what i did. I went to the dealer and complained. They pretended never to have seen it and blamed it on rough driving. (which is total BS). So I actually just walked the NEW Tacomas on that Toyota lot, and took pictures of 3 BRAND NEW trucks that were all shifted to either the right or the left. I walked back into the service center and said "wow, so you guys are selling brand new trucks that have damage from rough driving"??? needless to say they fixed the bed at NO charge and it took about 20 minutes..... really..... I encourage you to just look at every 3 gen truck you see in any parking lot. you will find them out of alignment. Take pictures and then go to the dealer and fight with them as I did. They will fix it

Thanks for the insight. I was concerned about the frame a bit, but looking I didn’t see anything to justify that -
I’ll see what I can argue at the dealer - or just fix myself.

it took some investigating on my part, just looking at every tacoma i saw in parking lots etc. After i saw that roughly 1 out of 10 had a shift, i went to the dealer. I was actually surprised that they had brand new trucks in the lot with the same. Although it was only 3 out of about 30 trucks. But it gave me a great position over them and I was pretty loud about it in the service center. :)
