I'm loving it but takes time to customize to your liking I'm amazed at how much faster it is compared to stock

I cannot get my steering wheel controls working or the USB cord.

    What am I missing here?

Go into "car settings" and select your car. Sometimes the car is not selected so it doesnt read steering wheel controls. There may not be a tacoma option in there, I used 2013 rav4 as my car setting and it all works

As for the USB, make sure its all plugged in right. Otherwise it should just work.

OK. This is what I'm looking at.

Is there supposed to be anything plugged into the USB ports in the back of the unit?

The wires that are shown in pictures, do those attach to anything?

Pictured are also the "extras" that nothing plugged into. Is that correct?

The black thing that says PUSH and is plugged into the unit, what's that for and do I do anything with it?

Sorry for all the questions lol

The dash USB should be plugged into the USB ports on the back of the headunit. There should of been a adapter that came with the unit that plugs into the factory harness and turns it into a USB plug. This is what the adapter looks like, but it should of come with one.

I dont think those short wires plug into anything, but Im not sure as mine is the early version that didnt have those.

The thing that says "push" is for a sim card for cell service.

I've got two of these. Is this the adapter?

Those just look like extensions. It should be a male USB on one end and a gray square on the other end.

I'm going to say they forgot mine. I don't see anything like that.

They forgot mine too, send them a email and they should send one out real fast. Otherwise the one I linked above should work and you can get it at most car audio shops.

Trace the USB connector in your dash. The wire attached to it should connect into the gray plug and the USB into the back of the joying unit

Its the gray plug that would of been in the back of your OEM radio. That wire plugs into the usb adapter, then the usb plug goes into the back of the new radio.

OK. The one I sent for 11.99 at best buy, will that do the trick?

I'll get this solved first then try steering wheel controls. I changed it to RAV4 but still nothing.

Do you have all the plugs coming from the truck plugged into something on the radio? There may be some extras on the radio, but every single plug coming from the truck should plug into something on the radio.

Just these two. I don't see a spot for either.

One of those is the XM antenna, the other I think is the FM antenna, there should also be a adapter for that.

I don't use XM radio and the radio works fine.

I did the the USB working with the adapter. Only thing that I can't get is the steering wheel controls.

Is there a small plastic box attached to the harness? That should be your canbus adapter. Make sure its all plugged in right (unplug and replug it in) Alternately, go into the settings where you change your car and poke around, try some of the other toyota models in there. I think hilux works also for our trucks.
