Didn’t say anything in the instructions about oil. It did mention using one step colder plugs though.

Just reviving this thread for a sec. Does anyone have any idea as to whether the 1TL212-SCI kit (complete with fuel pump booster and mapping) would fit the 2009 tacoma? I'm ordering my kit from TREPerformance in Costa Mesa, CA and they're telling me that my 2009 isn't compatable with the full kit. They said that I would have to buy the "tuner" kit (1TL202-SCI) and consult a tuner to see what fuel system they prefer to use for my setup then purchase the fuel pump, injectors, and tune on my own.

If this is true this is going to be a huge headache for me as I will be moving to Texas from CA within the next two weeks. I'm currently in touch with a shop that would be willing to install the SC and the tune but they don't know what fuel system would be best for this set up. I'm planning on keeping everything stock for at least a year to see whether I want mopowahbabeh. And if I have more money down the road for exhaust and such I'll retune. Just need this installed before the move.

Yea PN: ATI 1TL212-SCI will fit your truck. Description: "2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma 4.0HO Intercooled System with D-1SC supercharger"

I bought my tuner kit from TRE.. (first one they sold) I'm not sure why they think the fuel system stuff wont fit?

Regardless, I'd recommend dealing with this after your move. Moving is already stressful enough.

It is my understanding, according to TRE, like they insisted I not buy that kit as it isn't refundable and will NOT work with my 2009 tacoma. Called procharger and they said it will work so I'm not sure what the issue is. I just want reliable information for my tuner and installation shop.

The compatibility hasn’t been absolutely confirmed for your model year until Procharger installs the kit on an 09 even though there are no changes from the 07 that has been confirmed. TRE didn’t want to mess with my 15 either.

So did you end up getting the full kit or the tuner kit? Because I would love to just get the full kit and have an easier install than go around looking for injectors and pumps that might not fit my application.

I chose to wait until they verify it since the 15 is different with additional sensors

Secondary air injection equipment in the engine bay. I don't believe it is in the way of the Procharger, but could be wrong. The 5-11's do not have that. All the same, except that the plugs for the ecu changed in 09.

You could remove the SAIS, and use a simulator for it, then there would be not potential interferences.

Either way there's already a multitude of known drop in compatible injectors and fuel pumps. I wouldn't really worry about those.. I would however use an OBD tool to get your ECM's CAL ID and confirm you can use the HPTuner.

You should wait until you are settled into your new place before you start down the tuning road, incase something f's up.

I second this. I’ve seen friends get burned getting work done right before a move.

I'm all good thanks for the advice guys. Just got all the parts and install/tune stuff ordered or squared away. Very excited to get the dyno numbers after the install. Should I start a new thread with the build or do I continue it here? New to this.

I say do it here and if you'd like you can always start a build thread. This has sort of became the Procharger BS thread and I'm here for it

I am also sorting out a few details before I get the ProCharger kit. Hopefully sooner than later.

I've wanted A Pillar gauges for longer than I can remember. I used to think they were literally the coolest thing ever and I feel like a race car.

Welcome to the race car club. Just watch out for the random passers-by that see your pillar and want to race. ;)

Hmm, looks like the kit to go with! Those are impressive numbers. Anyone know what these motors can safely handle for hp?

I haven't seen a solid answer for that but it seems the general consensus is around 400hp before bad stuff starts happening. YMMV - people makin 600+ on stock Hondas so not sure what to believe.

PS. I should mention I have killed a lot of Toyota cast pistons in the past. The tune is everything but if you're pushing stuff and it pings once you can be assured they will be the first thing to go. Then the rods, and your wallet.

They probably opened the ring gap, are running E85, don't let the boost hit until high RPM.. etc...
