That Motiv X funnel works awesome, used it on my last change.

I was also very impressed with the packaging. 70915B25-189F-4825-925A-7F860062F9F0.jpgF7D91C79-0439-4CC7-90CC-1D6411EEFC3E.jpg 2FE3EE71-67ED-496F-B32E-3161736F3C04.jpg

Another thing to look out for is the filter housing, there's a lot of monkeys tightening the hell out of the filter housing(Jiffy lube,Dealership) so monitor the filter housing for cracks. Toyota sells Metal filter housing, that is the only fix if its cracked. IMO they should have come with metal housing from the factory.

I took our 2019 Tundra to the dealer for it's first oil change. The oil monkey didn't tighten the drain plug on the oil pan. After a few days I (also) noticed oil on the garage floor--quite a bit in fact. The plug was so loose it almost fell into my hand when I reached underneath to see what was up. Lost over a quart of oil, and the dealer cleaned the oil off the bottom of the truck. Not sure why I didn't change the oil myself--just lazy I guess. Maybe stupid too. Learned my lesson though.

Unfortunately this problem isn’t exclusive to Toyota dealerships. We’ve had problems with our local VW and Honda dealerships. Even with their warranty work.

Definitely go with the metal filter housing, hook a hose to one of the cheap plastic housing drain fittings that come with the filters (works perfect) and replace the drain plug with a Fumoto drain valve. I keep a hose in my drain pan ready for each and it makes the changes much less messy.

Thank you all again for the information and responses. Got a little sidetracked last week with other stuff but wanted to follow up.

I called the shop that did the oil change and they said bring it right in. Was already planning on leaving work early on Friday so I went in Friday afternoon. It was a different mechanic that took the truck this time than the one who did the oil change. He said he ran the truck for about 10 minutes and watched the filter housing and didn't see any leaks.

He did say that it looked like there was a spill on the cross bar behind the skid plate and he cleaned up as much of it that he could.

I have been keeping an eye on the oil level and will continue to monitor under the truck as well, but I think all is well for now.

I plan on buying the Motiv X kit and doing oil changes myself in the future.

    Have a great day!
