ReadyLift leveling kit - can it be lifted higher

I've never liked the way stock trucks front ends always sit lower than the rear of the truck, so when I bought my 2020 Sport, I had a ReadyLift 3" ~front, 2" rear put on the truck. Looked great.

Then I put a camper shell on and now my front end looks jacked up like a redneck moonshiners (not that I have anything against redneck moonshiners~I have such relatives).

Is it possible to get even an inch more lift out of the rear without getting an entire new kit?

You need proper rear leaf springs designed to carry the weight not blocks.

 

Add a leaf kit

 

Talking to the vendor who put my lift/leveling kit in, they are telling me all I need to do is change the size of the block. It would seem to me adding a leaf spring would make more sense since the extra weight of the camper shell was what pushed the backend down more. Guess I need to find a different vendor that agrees with that...but they do do a lot of lifts etc so I know they have experience.

 

The block will raise it but not help the suspension load at all. You need a new leaf pack or add-a-leaf

 

Would the extra leaf spring mean that the vehicle would ride rougher/stiffer? I can already feel every crack in the road is it is, can't imagine it bouncing more. Although, looking at the springs I can see that there isn't as much curvature as what I had on my F-150 making me think that even with very little load in the back, there is not a lot of tolerance before it bottoms out. Maybe its just how the springs look on a Tacoma, not sure.

 

Extra leaf would make it stiffer. I would look at a new leaf pack rated for your load and ride quality

 

The leaf I'm looking at is from ReadyLift, its a universal but supposedly rated for the truck ReadyLIFT | Universal Add-A-Leaf - For Compact And Mid-Size Trucks - Universal Add A Leaf. As far as the load, that's unknown at this time but I do generally carry a fair amount of lumber around. But if its going to ride like a covered wagon, I may be better off paying for larger lumber loads to just be delivered.

 

I wanted to follow-up on this thread. I had a ReadyLift add-a-leaf added. It did raise it up about 1.5 inches are so. VERY stiff ride, not sure I'm going to be able to deal with it but will drive it for a while to see if I just get to where I don't notice it. Its not like a Tacoma doesn't feel every bump in the road anyway, but this certain enhances the bumps!
