So I've been watching this thread and planning my own build and after a couple of attempts to shape the side pieces on my own I'm really looking into this route for having them cut by a shop. On a couple of other threads a few people recommended emachinshop.com but unfortunately it sounds like their make 2d cute size is aprox 22.5 x 47.5 which is a real bummer (Especially since they're only an hour from my house!). Does anyone have any recommendations for any other online suppliers similar to them?

Did you have to use spacers to mount it onto the roof? If so what kinda spacers and screws did you use?

I haven’t gotten mine installed yet, but I ordered these, and the hardware list is in the pic below which describes the spacers.

    Sendcutsend wants 490.94 Shipped.
    oshcut is 283.27 Shipped

check a few places to try to find your best price.

Anyone know if this will work on third gens? On P****u's page it says 05-current so I assume it will, but want to make sure before I go through all the design stuff. I've been wanting to make my own roof rack like this. I'll be mainly just taking the critical dimensions then changing a lot of stuff to make it more unique and what not.

Pretty sure the rack system and roof mounting points didn’t change at all to 3rd gens. Only thing I can think might be an issue is if they changed anything with the satellite antenna that may cause clearance problems. But I don’t think so.

Here's my version of the rack. I also made a rack for the camper shell, even though I don't have one yet... I plan on getting an ARE shell, I know they come with rails for mounting racks like this one, but anyone know anywhere that I can buy brackets to mount it? Also if anyone can confirm the length of the P****u or similar racks for the camper shell. I found a website saying its 66 inches but I'd like to confirm before getting them made.

Wanted to change up the lower grass portion of the painting a little. Tried to buy some paint like this from another company that makes paintings but they said you have to buy the whole paint can if you want to get this color of paint. I ended up mixing my own. I think the hue is just right ;)

Very, very nice. Here's a helpful thread with lots of ideas for mounting options: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mounting-foot-alternative-for-toprac.503846/

I found some 1.5" aluminum C-channel from my metal supplier, but the above ideas are much cleaner.

Would you mind sharing the file for the cab rack?

Thank you, I will go through that thread soon to see what I can find.

I will absolutely share the files, but I'd like to finalize it first and make sure it fits. I don't want to give anyone a cad file for a rack that doesn't fit. I may remove all the features I've added and just share a "blank canvas" for people to add whatever stuff they want. I'd like to keep my rack as unique as possible.

That's reasonable. I was planning on hand drilling my own from 3" aluminum flat bar, but having a file for a CNC machine makes things easier.

Appreciate the additions to this thread.

I’m not 100% sold yet that it is the right option. Still working thru my design. It is tight down in the channel so I have added some 1”x1” Polyurethane Bar (60D) under it to raise it up. Going to do some messing around with it this weekend. If it works out I would be happy to send you a PDF drawing and a DXF

I recently made this roof rack and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Thanks @JRYTacoma and @NeonHeights for the file! The final cost was around $370 so not as cheap as I thought it would be when I started but a lot cheaper than Prinsu. I made it out of 3/16 aluminum powder-coated black.

Looks great! I really need to get around to building one of these for myself. How did you end up configuring the mounts to get it bolted down?
