Is the Tacoma TRD Pro worth the extra $10k over a TRD Off-Road, ZR2 or Ranger?

I'm sure this has been echoed numerous times here, but best value I found was base base TRD OR and then set aside $3-5k for upgrades that you can pick and choose- utility, look, protection, performance.
You can easily negotiate it down to low 30s and be out the door for well under 40.
This was my conclusion after doing A TON of research, and followed my own advice :D

    good luck!

Unfortunately we've crossed the point of no return. I'm amazed at the stuff my SR has on it, the only thing it's missing from my 12 TRDOR is a locker, xm radio, and rear seats. The fact that the very base model super stripped down version still gets stuff like Toyota Safety Sense tells me we will never go back to "simple" again. Trucks will only get fancier from here on out, much to my disapproval.

There is nothing that the Pro really has that makes it better than an OR in my opinion. A ZR2 is more capable, the ranger has the most power, but the Pro will hold the most value.

I suspect they'll have to be a limit at some point just because of the price of what people are able to pay for a new truck, then again maybe they'll just ship production from Mexico to the Congo and pay them 10 cents a day, then sell them back to us for 40k.

Now, see... like you, I found the best value to be a TRD OR at about $34k all in - but I used the $7k-$9k difference to enhance my bone stock truck with a boat and trailer :D

Hahaha a boat! Brilliant. I am the typical research-the-crap-out-of-TW to determine my order of mod operation.....ongoing.

Well... no one could (or should) tell you which one to get.

My $.02, decide what is most important to you. If resale value is at the top of the list the the Taco is a good bet. On the other hand, if you just want the one which you think looks the best, or rides and drives the best then go for it.
