    2006 Silver Tacoma TRD Off-Road
I've been doing business with Overland Outfitters for almost a year now. I heard about them through Instagram originally last May. After emailing back and forth with Braeden for over a month discussing what I was looking for regarding my 2006 Tacoma build and getting his opinion on all the options. I decided to go with a full king suspension set up paired with @ARCHIVE hammer hangers and shock tower relocation to accommodate the 14" king smoothies in the rear. Also got the Icon RXT leaf springs.

Throughout the whole process, Braeden and his team were amazing. They were very straight forward with the lead times and didn't ask for full payment up front. Just a 50% deposit on the order total. Which is pretty standard in this industry. Their prices were the best for the products I ordered compared to other local companies here in BC (trust me, I did a lot of researching on this matter because it was such a big purchase for me). Obviously COVID has played a huge roll this past year in manufacturing and supplying shops with products. Despite that, the lead times were very reasonable to me. I think it was about 6 weeks for the archive hammer hangers and icon leafs, and about 8 weeks for the king suspension and archive shock towers. All said and done it was worth the wait!

I installed all the products myself as I always do, but I wasn't comfortable tackling the shock tower relocations. After looking around Vancouver Island area I wasn't able to find someone who I felt confident enough to do the install for me. So I reached out to Braeden about coming over to the mainland to have them do the install for me. Booking my appointment was easy and they were very accommodating to my schedule especially considering I'd be travelling over (Just a ferry ride and one night stay in a hotel near their shop but the additional costs do add up!). I booked my appointment through Amanda. Her customer service was fantastic and she was very honest about what I'd be looking at for labour costs before even making the trip over.

So my girlfriend and I booked the day off work for a friday in late October and made the trip over. Our experience was outstanding from the moment we arrived at Overland Outfitters shop. Braeden, Jenna, Amanda and the rest of the crew were so welcoming when we arrived! Hung out and chatted with everyone at their store front before loading the goodies into my truck and heading over to the shop for the fun stuff to begin! Braeden even took the time to quickly pull my old rear shocks with me at their store front in the pouring rain so we could cycle the leafs to see if the 14" king's would work for my set up (They had a pair of 12" and 14" king's in stock and I was torn between the two). Sure enough they did! So we decided to go with the 14s instead of the 12s. It was a full day install so my girlfriend and I spent the day exploring around Cloverdale before checking into our hotel later in the afternoon.

Just before Overland Outfitters closed for the night, I got a phone call from Braeden. He told me the install was going well and he was just letting the paint dry on the shock towers before throwing everything back together. Said he needed about 2 hours to finish up and asked if I wanted him to stay late to finish it up, or wait until Saturday morning to finish it. I was fine with either or as I was in no rush since we were spending the night there anyways. After deciding to finish the install Friday night, Braeden called just before 8pm saying the truck was ready to go. At this point, I was so excited to see it all finished up! We called a cab and rushed back down to the store front just in time to see Braeden bringing my truck back. The install went amazing, Braeden did a top notch job with it, and this was his first time installing this particular shock relocation kit (He's installed many others though!). After paying the bill for the install, my girlfriend and I chatted with Braeden and Jenna for a while. Next thing we knew it was 10pm haha!

I am beyond happy with my truck after getting this big stage of the suspension wrapped up! The truck handles and feels amazing on and off-road. The rear travel I have from the hammer hangers and shock tower relocations from @ARCHIVE is AMAZING! Has not let me down yet off-roading, and I do off-road my truck quite hard.

In my experience so far in this industry, I can't think of any shops that go above and beyond like Overland Outfitters does. Things like them staying late after hours to finish an install and always being there to answer any questions whether its via phone, email, social media. Everyone on their team is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the products they sell.

I've been doing all of my business through Overland Outfitters since then. I've placed several orders with them now and every time the lead times, shipping and other info are presented up front. I have had no issues with them and honestly, I don't have a single bad thing to say. Now every time I'm over on the mainland I always make time to pop by their shop to say hi to everyone! I feel like I've made some new friends with their crew. It's just really nice to see a smaller local shop that makes each and every customer not feel like just another invoice number. Their very personal with each customer that walks into their shop. I was lucky enough to get the chance to go out off-roading with Braeden and Jenna when they were over on Vancouver Island a few weeks back on a camping trip! Was really cool to be able to show them some of our local trails, and of course see Braeden's wicked Tacoma in action as well. Thing is a BEAST! Hopefully this spring/summer we'll get a chance to go over to the mainland and do some more off-roading with them and the rest of the crew.

I could go on and on, but all said and done, Overland Outfitters is an outstanding company. They're growing their business in these tough times and it's awesome to see. I recommend them to everyone I talk to now if they need new parts for their Toyota's or are looking for a high quality professional shop install. I will continue to do business with them as I progress with my Tacoma build. Support your local shops!

Thanks for everything you guys have done for me and my build over the past year. You're an awesome group of people to deal with! Looking forward to doing more business with you in the future and getting to hit more trails with you and the rest of the crew!

    Keep up the great work!

    Cheers,

    Tyler

Overlandoutfitters definitely has the best customer service I experienced in the industry. Had a million questions regarding a mid travel setup for my Tacoma and they were all answered.

The level of customer service I received gave me the confidence to trust them with my business and I even booked a full rear suspension upgrade with them.

Currently I'm waiting for the parts to come in, but they have been more then helpful with answering my questions as well as giving me updates on the matter.

You guys are all amazing, and the reason we keep doing this! My wife and I are so invested in this business that it honestly really hurts to have some people so against us, usually without giving us a chance. In some cases people have blasted us on Facebook or elsewhere who have never even bought anything from us! It's a tough lesson to learn as we grow that we can't please everybody, as hard as we try, so we need to learn not to take things so personally.

All that said thank you for your support, and we will continue to strive to be better as a business! I know lead times have been super long, and sometimes it can take us a bit to get back to emails as we are such a small team, and there's always room to grow. So thank you again for your patience and understanding!

    @WormSquirts

Quoting myself to add some updated hypothetical pictures and hypothetical weights. Hypothetically most of the camping crap plus a bit more stuff is in the truck so I could take some pictures and weigh the piggy. My guess is that the truck is at 95% of the hypothetical camping loadout. As you can see the Dakars + aal are more negative now. Also looking for advice on which Deaver Expo pack would be best. I'm still thinking the stage 3. Front- 1320kg, rear- 1590kg, total 2910Kg.

My weights are: front 2910lbs, rear 3505lbs.

You think Deaver U402 stage 3 will be enough? I've contacted Deaver and am waiting for a reply but I'm not sure I'll get a response since I've read that they're customer service is lacking in that respect. Not sure you'd have better luck since I'm trying to figure out if the stage 3 will be enough or if I'll need to have a custom pack made and shipped up.

Yo sorry, I read your other post a few days ago, but was super busy and forgot to respond!

Sounds like your truck weighs similar to mine when I'm fully loaded for a trip. You're basically at the max weight for a stage 2, and minimum weight for a stage 3, so it's an awkward spot. If you prefer a firmer, taller ride, then stage 3, or if you want a slightly more cushy ride with a bit less height, the stage 2. You could always get the stage 3, and if it's too stiff, pull a leaf out.

No worries about the reply. I’m not sure how much the truck weighs stock so I’m not sure how much I’m over that. I’m also likely a little on the light side as I didn’t have everything loaded in the truck when I weighed it. If I’m still within the stage 3 limits I’ll be going that way. Basically I’m just trying to confirm that I’m not over the stage 3 weight (700-1000lbs). And I’m hoping they won’t look like my Dakars do (in above picture) when fully loaded. I also won’t be fully loaded all the time but likely at least half of the fully loaded weight.

Someone posted the below numbers so that’s what I’m using as a general reference.

Yeah, that looks accurate. The DCLB (what I have) is a bit heavier than that stock, by around 150-200lbs.

I would say the stage 3 should be good. If you're too heavy for the stage 3, then you might want to start looking at a full size :p

I'm thinking it'll work too...no full size for me. I don't want a full size and I've already put WAY too much into this truck.

Sounds good. I’m still trying to figure out if I’m doing these this year or waiting until next. Can you PM me what I’m looking at for price on the U402 stage 3 packs.

So apparently Deaver didn't put our name on the shipment, and never told us that it had been sent. It's been sitting at the warehouse across the border for almost 2 weeks... Sorry guys. It will be coming across soon.

Those look great. I did get your email but I’ve been busy with work and haven’t had a chance to reply yet. I’m still not sure what I’m going to about my rear leaf packs. I’m worried that the stage 3 will not be enough and have contacted Deaver 3 times to get their input on it but have heard nothing back. Plus I’m still waiting on my drawer system and will not know my actual weights until then. I’ll likely pass at this time but if I change my mind I’ll contact you. And I’ll keep contacting Deaver to see if the stage 3 will be enough or if I’ll need a custom pack.

    Thank you.
