    Ok so quick backstory.... my parents got married in Tahoe back in the day and we used to vacation there every summer so it is a very special place for me. Took the fiancé (now wife) up there for my "birthday" trip and we hiked up to the lookout spot on top of Cave Rock. While she was busy taking a selfie :rofl: I snuck the ring out and boom total surprise! It's not a off-road trail but still offers a nice scenic spot that can be private depending on time/day you go.

    Personally, I'd recommend proposing in a spot that's already special to you two, rather than finding someone else's special spot.

    But...If you're looking for NorCal views, then you can't go wrong at Castle Crags or the Mt. Shasta area; will be great this time of year.
