Is there a reason everyone has bolts perturbing on the top of the rack? Wondering if there’s a way to conceal the bolts in the channels so the top of the rack is flush. I will be using this for lumber and surfboards and hoping to not have bolts that will scratch either when sliding them on.
Really appreciate the post. Can’t wait to get started!

All my bolts are in the channel and the top is flush. I didn't want the bolts or boltheads
sticking up either. In the picture they look like they stick up but they are below the lip.

Do you get any sag in the struts when loading it up? Debating whether to go with the 3/4” vs the 1 5/8 strut. I’ll be using it Cary lumber.
    Thanks!

Yes there is some sag but I don't think its bottomed out yet. I do the same and carry lumber as long as its distributed across it should be fine. Obviously the 1.5 would be much stronger, it depends on how much lumber/weight your putting up top. I don't do it all the time, but if your a contractor who would constantly be putting weight up there, I'd go with the 1.5.

Huge thanks to OP for the write up! Apart from installing my Rhino tracks unparallel on the cap it went well. I had a hard time figuring out how to mount the rack to the tracks but ended up finding the part number for the bolts Rhino uses for their crossbars, it isn't perfect and I ay end up swapping it for upside down carriage bolts but for now it works. It's been up there for two weeks which has given me enough time to figure out that I might need an extra crossbar and will likely move the support brackets closer to each end of the tracks for more stability, but overall I'm super pleased. I'd like to finish it off with some of the blue end caps, but sadly Canadian Home Depot doesn't sell them.

This thread was inspiration for this little project,

Still a work in progress but mostly just detail stuff that is more OCD than anything else. Kicking around a few ideas for added functionality but mostly just havin' some fun.
