It’s time after a lot of research i’ve got a lot figured out of what I want but still got a few questions. I am going with the 20x10 -18 Fuel Runner wheels in chrome. BDS 6” lift is what i’m going with as I hate rough country and the ready lift kit seems okay but I figured it’s just best to spend more money and get BDS. Tire size is the only thing I have questions about I was gonna just get 33s but people have been saying they fit 35s on a 6” lift with no trimming or rubbing at all? I find that very hard to believe especially without replacing upper control arms but most of the aftermarkets are even beefier. Just looking for some thoughts and opinions even on the lift just curious what you guys have went with.

You're aware that you will have to cut out a section of frame crossmember in order to install the lift? Nothing wrong with the lift if you want the looks of the 6" lift over the superior performance a similarly priced 3" kit and are ok with chopping the frame.

Guy said he's getting 20x10's...obviously gives zero fudges about performance.

I have friends on 35s but they have the lift cranked up to 7”+ so it’s hard to say if 35s would rub on a 6” lift only but most likely minimal plastic trimming would be necessary. You’ll also want to regear with 35s if you have good size hills where you live. Trust me.

And it will look like baaaaaad a$. Plan on doing supercharger or just regearing. Post pics or do a build thread. Build thread is better.

Not a lot of DB lift fans here, so I havent seen many folks with them but my guess is you’d at least have to do a little trimming to fit 35’s

I am on that lift. I'm on 35s 20x12 -44 and have had to do extensive cutting. Since you are going 20x10 I would say you would have to do a little cutting. Rides great and stands out from all others.

Down here in Hawaii it’s automatic straight to 22x14s with 33x12.5s. Stretched. Lol

I am thinking about regearing atleast i’ll have to see how much power I lose from the bigger tires. Thinking about trying 20x12s with -44 and 33s. 35s I know i’ll probably have to chop especially if I do -44 gonna check some more builds and make sure before I go wider.

Agreed. Lol I get teased for having 17” wheels on my 7” lift... by people who have taken their 22x14s back to the tire shop 9 times because they can’t figure out the vibration. Lol seriously. I’ve got a friend.

I had a 6" lift on my tacoma with 35s, cmc, and front bumper slightly trimmed. It rode like crap and the ball joints prematurely wore out. Got rid of it after only 15k miles on the truck. I'm sure if you don't mind cutting the crossmember you can do a cmc. And keep the piece you cut from crossmember incase you want to go back. Ask me how i know...

Nothing yet. Old truck had the works.
I have a 6 inch bds without coilovers. 35x12.5x18 nittos.
Cab mount chopped. Alot of trimming. I beat pinch weld. Turning and full stuff offroad my flares have ripped off and it bent the body slightly. Also the wide tires will violently rub on your sway bar when you reverse. Its BAD haha.
Recently i have a really weird whooshing squeak that might be the ball joints like the above poster. I need to find out.
It makes other odd sounds haha.

If i had to do it over again im torn. The 6 inch looks way better on the longbed. And it gives me more clearance offroad. Which i need. But the tradeoffs arent great. And for the price my ride is absolutely crap compared to my old icons on my 2nd gen.

    So let’s see.

3” kit requires cutting and trimming
6” kit requires even more cutting and trimming.

Why not just use a 3” kit and cut less? Unless you like the 6” look of course.
