Turning off LED light interior

Hey guys,

I bought a 2021 Taco recently but can’t seem to find a way to turn this light off in my truck as I don’t know what it is called. Please see attached picture.

the lit buttons aren’t for that light.

 

I put a small piece of tint on mine, cut it back by about 75%, that light is stupid bright. There’s no way to turn it off or down as far as I know.

 

u can't turn it off ....it lights up your wireless phone charging area

 

I don’t think I have Qi charge let me check

Now to get the blue D tamed down.
I wonder if there’s a way to unplug that irritant. :-/

 

I had a flashback of back in the day when we would put fingernail polish on the dome light bulb

 

There is a plug. It’s under the shifter.

 

I like the light and want to replace the bulb to a blue LED bulb. Anyone know what type of bulb and how to access it. 2016 DCSB OR 4X4 MT6

 

Maybe get a blue tint like the guy suggested above!

 

Place a one inch length of black electrical tape over half of the light. Works great and easy to adjust if you want more or less light.

 

Blue Painters Tape.
Trace a Nickel on the tape, cut it out with scissors, stick it over the stupid-bright light - fixed.
If you still want it dimmer, then repeat the process with a second layer of blue tape.
A cheap fix that is also easily reversible if need be.

Remove the Head Unit and reach in to unplug it... or remove it from its slot...
