    Howdy ya’ll,

I was wondering if ya’ll could give me an idea of the potential causes of this seepage. I’m going to get at it next week, but I want to order some stuff to take care of it.

the seepage seemed to be coming out of my drum. It was fairly dusted up and gunk on it, but it’s obvious something is going on.

it’s either brake fluid or gear oil, but I don’t know I bled my brakes and my brake fluid was still full.

Looks like axel seal to me. Check the diff breather, maybe it’s plugged and if you catch it soon enough you may not need seals

If it's brake fluid it's likely the wheel cylinder leaking, if it's gear oil it's the axle seal leaking.
Either one is relatively easy to replace providing things aren't super rusted.

Gear oil smells very different from brake fluid which has almost no smell at all. That’d be an easy way to determine which it is. If it’s gear oil, then your answer is above. If it’s brake fluid, it’s most likely the drum cylinder- not a terrible job to tackle.

I took this picture after I bled the brakes. I mistakenly didn’t tighten it enough after I bled it. I had to go back and bleed it again, which is why I had that mess.

I was thinking it was the brake cylinder thing. I haven’t pulled off not seen the brake drums since I bought it. It’ll be a fun time pulling them rusted things off.

Make sure you back off the rear adjustment all the way before trying to pull the drums.
