If i am not mistaken, my 14 reg cab 2.7 4x4 has 4.10s out back. What options do we have to slightly increase city driving, while maintaining enough gear to (not necessarily hardcore crawling, more like fun, moderate trailing) get on the trails with balls in low range? Or should i just bite my knuckle and get one of those pedal commander DBW delay fixer thingies.

Well kind of both, i just meant being able to get up a liiittle quicker while not losing any 4wd potential or in turn having it bang the limiter on the highway. Im not exactly educated on gearing (no shit right) so i wasnt sure if gearing would even be appropriate

What are you...what's the use you're trying to achieve?

Generally, gearing for trail performance and gearing for street driveability are antagonistic. Better at one makes you worse at the other, all other things being equal.

    FEW

    many variables

from a diff pov..............when U regear the addl wear/tear is there ALL the time

whereas if a manual is left in fourth gear.............necessity is met

the foremost factor especially below hi-way speeds is keeping the engine in its optimum power range

    essentially between 2500-4000 rpm

thereby NOT overstressing ANY component..................whatever gear for that scenario/environ is correct
