    I noticed in the few times I’ve removed/reinstalled the front air dam that I get pushed around easier without it.

    1701, wife and I drove out from NW Fl to Grand Canyon 5 summers ago. Took us three days to get to Albuquerque, but we’d get on road around 10am and off road around 5-6pm. On the road for 19 days/nights. It was our canyon tour: Canyon de Chez in AZ, Monument Valley where John Ford filmed John Wayne movies, Antelope Canyon outside Page, Az, Bryce Canyon, Zion, North Rim of the GC and finally South Rim of the GC. Stayed in National Park lodges in Bryce, Zion, and both GC rims. A trip of a lifetime. Good luck on your travels.

    @Taco1701
    I've drove across the country 3 times in my day, best trips were those with no plans, .. just go... that-a-way...
    Take a good camera and take your time.

    Never make plans anytime I travel and can 1000% agree.

    Wife and I did a 16-day trip in a little camper to YellowStone and back a few summers ago.. middle of July and it was 39 degrees at night in YellowStone.
    It was slow-and-go ... driving 5-6 hours a day..

    Arizona - Utah - Idaho - Montana - loved it... didn't want to come home.. even after a sprint of 7 days with no shower I was still good-to-go.

    The cooler we had, ( Canyon Cooler )... started off with a Block of ice in it and still had about a 1/6 block left when we got home.

    Hope to do more trips like that soon, wish the wife would up and retire ...

    Drove to and from Indio with strong winds in my 2.7, had to gas pretty hard. Had fun in the desert. The way back was worse, was driving against the wind. Saw a overlander wrangler driving next to me and and everything was moving side to side and squeaking.

    I've driven in some pretty gusty cross winds, nothing unusual that i haven't encountered before. Most notable was the howling at times the wind gusts can cause with the factory tonneau cover.

    Welcome to the area!

    Side winds seem to take an MPG hit also.

    Unplanned trips where you just jump in the truck and drive are great! The only thing I’ve really started planning is trying to figure out overnight stays along the way. Our dog will be going with us, so we are looking at pet friendly hotels and such.

    Thanks! We’ve wanted to do this for a long time and finally decided to make it happen. We are looking at GC South Rim, Canyonlands, Arches, and Pikes Peak. We will fill out the rest of the trip, but I want to leave everything kind of open to just explore. I think it’s going to an awesome trip!

    Pikes peak is a great drive.

    But please, when you visit the gc, go for a little hike below.the rim. Amazing

    No matter which rim, the GC is simply stunning. We took the shuttle buses offered along the south rim and got off at each little stop to soak up a different view. It’s much more crowded and touristy than the north rim. We stayed on the north rim in a little rustic cabin near the restaurant in July, and needed blankets and heat at night. We took a mule ride along the north rim and got caught in a brief hail storm. We flew in a 25 seater airplane over the GC from the south rim...flew over the Colorado River. It was July-hot at the south rim, much lower altitude than N. rim. Took a mule ride to the bottom of Bryce Canyon and the guide told us if we get scared along the narrow edges just do what the mules do and close our eyes. Comedians are everywhere.
