    Hello uncles

I hope that everyone is staying healthy and happy and away from TV and the chaos associated with it

Time for a front-end refresh, as the lower ball joints have too much slack

Just wanted to check with you re:

    1) The part numbers below are correct
    2) Do I have to buy 4 cotter pins or do they come with the parts
    3) what else should I change while at it?

Car has a new rack & pinion, rubber break lines. Rotors, calipers and Akebono brakes were changed a few years ago and are in great shape

    Front upper ball joints (2) – 43310-39016……..$44.66

Front lower ball joint – 43330-39556……$122.37

Front lower ball joint – 43340-39436….$98.87

    outer tie rod - 45047-39175………….. $48.08

    outer tie rod - 45046-39295…….……. $48.08

    boots (2) - 45535-35030……………………….$25.67

    inner boot clamp (2) - 90460-62006……. $6
    outer boot clamp (2) - 90467-33005……. $4.09

    Thank you

    Alex

parts list looks good. however if you are not replacing the inner tie rods then don't get the boots or clamps. no need to remove them at all or replace unless they are ripped (actually should be new since you replaced your rack)

Any idea what the dealer will charge for installing all these parts? My Toyota certified mechanic said $400, which includes a wheel alignment. I think it is a fair price

    Thanks

alignment alone is roughly $100 so basically $300 to install everything isn't bad considering labor costs

maybe someone else will chime in that knows more

$400 all in for a dealer to do it sounds fair to me alignment included.

Around here that would probably be the cost to just install new LBJs at the dealer.

I think new inner tie rod boots is a good idea, when I replaced mine I didn't get new boots and my old ones got a tear in them not long after. If the boot tears and dirt/water gets in there it will compromise your new inner tie rods as well as the steering rack.

Thanks Guys going to order the parts. The mechanic is a foreman at a dealer but does work on the side. No conflict of interest either as i do not deal with where he works and did not meet him via the dealer

FYI gentlemen, I found the best pricing here
