Toyota Tacoma lack of inventory

I am still finding a lack of Tacoma inventory in our area. They do have some of the SR models but the upper models seem to be still in transit. I also looked up the Kelly Bluebook value of my truck and it is almost still what I paid for it.
Anyone else still seeing this?

 

I have a 19 also and I heard this about a year ago that some people were getting offers from places like CarMax close to what they paid for their trucks that were already 2 years old. That's supply and demand for you but if we sell we can't find one to buy

 

Same here, the local dealers around here have 2-3 Tacoma's on the lot vs the 10-20 they usually have. I had to order mine and ETA is end of May. Luckily one of the dealers at least had the trim/options I was considering so I could check that out before placing the order.

 

I ran my 2020 through carvana's estimater just for fun and after 15 months and 12k miles they offered me almost exactly what I paid for it.

 

This was my main concern in the thread I opened for antitheft measures. If your Tacoma or T4R gets stolen there is no telling how long it would take to get another one, not to mention there terrible negotiating position you would be in with no vehicle.

 

Panama city toyota has half their lot filled with Tacomas of all trims it seems like.

 

When I started poking around about a month ago I kinda wanted to try a different
color then white, found one at another dealer and asked mine if they could do a D/T
being that my dealer has a huge inventory he did not see a problem

When I went in to finalize the deal a white one was on the show floor exactly how
I wanted it equipped and thought I can handle white again and glad I did as there
were two others who put offers in right after my deal was booked SOLD

 

As the economy picks up (which it inevitably will), demand is going to outstrip supply. The shortages we see now on dealers' lots will get worse, and prices will go up. I'm glad I got my new Tacoma when I did.

 

They have 5. Must be small dealership.

 

I drove by yesterday and there was no less than 20. Both new and used. I wonder if their website isn't updated.

 

Chased a 4WD V6 Access Cab SR5 for 6 weeks before I found one. Local dealer here has 20-80 on the lot at any time and then boom they
are gone - then another 20-80 come in and they sell in days.

 

There is 1 new and 6 used on the lot here.

 

Ford has new Broncos on the way to dealers. I don't know if they are customer orders or unspoken for inventory. This might make obtaining a new Tacoma easier.

 

Do people really cross shop Broncos and tacomas?

 

Don't know. I like both vehicles, I'm not really in the market for a new vehicle. I cross shop the Tacoma and 4Runner but I think that's mostly because they are both Toyotas. I find PUs more usefull than an SUV.

 

Lots of people (myself included) who buy Tacomas are shopping for a 4WD outdoorsy vehicle more than they're shopping for a truck. The Bronco is definitely a competitor there

 

I have a DCSB with a manual on order because no one within a 150 mile radius has one. Supply is very low on all Tacoma's especially manuals. The good thing is that I was offered 43,200 on my 2019 Tundra which is $2500 more than I paid for it. I got it on employee pricing and will do the same with the Tacoma if I do decide to trade.

I did. Just got tired of waiting for the Bronco and cancelled my pre-order.
