    Your truck is too new for this issue, not enough miles yet. Drive your truck for at least 1000 miles so the tranny can pattern your habits. Once you get a little drive time, the computer will know your habits and adjust to it. If after a few 1000 miles you still feel the hard shifting and jerking, bring it in and service can check it out.

    That is my concern though. I am at a point right now I could probably work with the dealer to get into possibly a different truck (V6) if it comes to that and hopefully not have this issue. The more miles I put on it the less bargaining power I will have. Aside from that, a new truck just should not be shuddering and jerking, that is ridiculous.

    Go to service shop and have service Manager go for a ride with you. I had him and a master tech ride with me

    I have contacted them so we'll see what they have to say. I hope I don't get the runaround.

    I had the wind noise issue where a TSB existed to replace the door seal. I had to argue with them for 12k miles to replace a fuggin piece of foam. It wasn't until I offered to just pay for the damn thing that they performed the TSB.... all because the tech couldn't verify it on a test drive. Their test loop is a slow congested highway and a winding rural road so they would never have replicated the conditions.

    I have a 2016 tacoma trd sport that has the delayed engagement when going from park to 1st or reverse to 1st that lurches the truck. Called the toyota dealer today and they said that TSB doesn't apply to the truck but there is a recall for the frame..........

    Yeah, I'd argue that point. Very frustrated dealing with Toyota dealerships myself. I had a 1997 Tacoma 2wd with 330K miles that saw the dealership when it was at the showroom when purchased. In my twenty years of ownership it never saw the dealer - I did all the service. Brakes, radiators, starter motor(s), alternators. This 2016 has been already twice to the dealer - radio and transmission TSBs. Wondering if I should have purchased a Ranger at this point.

    None...yet
    F*ck me. I have been dealing with this for 5 years now. I have asked 2 different dealers to address the stall when shifting from park/reverse to drive. Both have said I am crazy and there is no problem. The stall only seems to happen for me when the engine/tranny are cold.

    A few things:

    Are you still in the powertrain warranty? If so, they should do this for free. Also if you are out of warranty and they documented it, they should do this TSB for free as it was noted while you were covered.

    Beyond that, the ECU ID in the TSB is out of date. 04B02. The latest ECU ID for the 2016 / 2017 ATs is 04B04, which can be found in TSBs TSB-0058-18, TSB-0062-18, TSB-0125-18, or TSB-0013-19. All will install the same software, just different symptoms noted.

    If you can't get a dealer to do it, there are a lot of TW'ers around the country that could flash you up.

    I just bought my 2016 CPO last week. Both my wife and I notice it hunting for gears. I called 2 different dealers about the TSB and they said they have no idea what I’m talking about.. All they do is plug in the VIN and say, “I’m not seeing that here”. Is there something else I should say?

    @Stormpeacock I'm not far from you. Just called the dealership about it but not sure what will happen. I have a 2016 and am experiencing the same issues. Especially the park to drive and the weird ass power band.

    The ECU update via TSB is pretty minimal but may address some of the issues.
    In terms of milk:
    stock = skim
    tsb = maybe 2%?
    OVtune = 1%
    performance tune (like KDmax) = whole

    So it kind of seems like... more $$$ = less problems? Lol.

    Stock is definitely wack. From my understanding and please correct me if I'm wrong, the TSB is necessary before OV or KD anyway though right?

    Not entirely necessary. I have tunes and can makes tunes for older ecu versions but you want the latest to work out any bugs and also so that you cant get your tune overwritten

    Oh well that makes sense. I heard back from the dealership yesterday. I have an appointment for Saturday to get things looked at. They said if the tech thinks it is the TSB that it will be covered but if they think it's something more we will talk and go from there.

    What kind of tunes do you have? Feel free to message me if you want.

    I'm planning on a small lift(doing research currently) and a slight tire upgrade as well. Mostly for cosmetic purposes as it's a 2wd and will probably only ever see one dirt road in its lifetime. So I dont want to destroy what little fuel economy I have.
