there are whole new tune packs coming with map switching, expanded tables, custom code, etc. I just posted for testing and releasing to pro tuners. It's the 2.0 + all optioned out stuff

I have a surging biotch of a truck on anything 2.0 and I approve this message.

I look forward to the next dyno results.

Beyond that though, there's the seat of your pants grunt that you get with SFOB at RPMs well below what will be run on the dyno.
You can be running in 6th at 1100 RPM on back roads, happy as a clam. The truck will hold it's own, and accelerate up slight inclines if you need it to.
Then there's the short shift into 2nd. You can again be at 1100 or lower and the truck will pick it up and get along nicely. Same with 3rd.
It's a hard thing to compare, but when it's not there, you know it.

I truly don't think you'd get shit if it drove as nicely as kdmax does.

Also, I thought his whole issue was the stumble start, not necessarily the use / non use of DI etc.

No, his issue was it did not use as much port injection as he thought it should use.

It's kinda hard to track because you know so much about the tunes, so you're thinking 2 or 3 steps ahead (tuning wise). I follow what you're saying now though. Realistically the stumble start tune was the best tune for me n my truck. Ultimately you advised against sustained use of it. Looking forward to trying the new options from you.

Yeah that was the direct injection one that got scrapped at the time cuz someone thought that their valves weren’t getting cleaned enough

Yeah gotcha. I just wasn't understanding the correlation at first. There can stand to be a little "firmness" with things around here, from time to time.

At lower engine loads, and lower engine speeds port injection can be more efficient. However the more port you use the lower your knock boundary is at high load.
Direct injection only allows this engine to get pretty nutty with ignition (32+ degrees WOT).
and power is made through ignition.

You can sacrifice some port and gain power.

not to mention if we go far back and dig deep enough down this rabbit hole of a thread I explained in great detail the variances seen from fueling on each bank. I have dual widebands on each bank of my test truck..yada yada yada each banks AFR is not as "neat" as you'd imagine.

What's shocking is when you compared it to a Tundra. Tundra uses hieroglyphic strategies (old), yet runs stoic any any / varying load and rpm so beautifully it's quite hard to believe.

This calibration (dual injection) seems to have a much harder time having such *perfect* AFRs. Why?.........well I explained it all before. the way the fuel is fed to each bank.

I (and others) would still like the 100% mat tune with no community input. Sounds like that’s what this is or at least more so than previously

too many people here have input on things they don’t understand.. I’ll trust mat and his years of experience

Is this why people can reportedly just throw a supercharger on the Tundra with no tune and the truck will just figure its life out and you're g2g?

The features included in these new tune packs, are they also available just within the software itself? Like gearlock or map switching for example. Could these features just be toggled to link two tunes together and add gearlock and do whatever else without having the actual tune pack?

Or are they exclusive to the tunes within the new packs?

You said 2.0 + optioned out stuff. So are the tunes within the new packs no different than current 2.0 tunes? Just with additional features that can be toggled on or off as desired?

Does this effectively mean that users completely new to vF get these new packs to start with but the rest of us could use our existing packs and with the new software we'd enable those features on top of them to result in effectively the same tune as the new tune pack?

Will the packs remain the same price, will they be more expensive? Are you willing to confirm at this time that they will be locked to the Master Key used to purchase them or do you have something else in mind?

With your increasing dependence on the credit system, will the system become automated or will it remain as is? Will credit purchase become automated too or will that be the only non-automated outlier feature?

    Same.

I think it's okay to question things if you don't understand them and want to understand, but there are plenty it seems who take a rudimentary understanding bourne of 5 mins spent googling and then elect to act as if they're the professional tuner and not Mat. Lol
