Ah, I misinterpreted his comment thought he meant to drive with it open to prevent the condensation build up.

The net would be just for camping to allow better air flow/less condensation if sleeping in the truck.

Anybody have examples of these magnetic nets and maybe black out curtains in their truck?

Also what LEDs/lighting solutions for your Smartcap?

Foam strip is in case your front bed doesn't line up with the sides.

Rubber blocks go under where you bolt the lid on and also in the rear corners.

They are mentioned in the instructions.

Thanks! Hmm i see where they are mentioned but the drawing makes it look like the rubber blocks go on top of the bed caps. Anyone have a photo of the set up?

I don't but you slide them just under the lip and up against the gasket. I put mine just off to the side of the bolt so it wouldn't interfere.

Check page 14 and 20 of the following link:

Thank you! The drawing on pg 15 and 16 show me where the blocks should end up. I skipped over those pics because they weren't for the Tacomas.

Did you use the foam on the front edge? Seems like we wouldn't need it since the front edge is slightly taller than the sides.

I didn't use the foam on the front edge. My suggestion is to get some butyl tape or use some RTV to seal up the gap at the front of the bed. I need to go back in and add more RTV as I still get leaks from the front corners and have the bed plugs from the tonneau cover.

I removed the plastic bed caps and the front edge bar, cleaned it all up and laid down black RTV sealant caulk underneath it all to prevent water seepage underneath. Then tried to fill in as much of those big gaps at the front corners with the sealant. Once the cap is on, I'll try to go back and touch up any gaps.

I went out to my swamp to check for pigs and throw some bait down yesterday and it was pretty soupy. I usually dread this because of the cleanup afterwords. I’ve never taken a vehicle through a car wash but since my paint is fukd I figured I’d stop in on my way home and get the initial wash there... I’m never doing the initial exterior post muddy off-roading again. $16 saved me probably 2 hours, because not only did I have to wash it but I didn’t have to rinse the mud out of my driveway either. And the best part... cap was dry as a bone inside.

Also, I was thinking about either ordering some more MOLLE panels or just attaching some aluminum sheet to the back side of the bins utilizing the same factory mounting points so I won’t have to drill additional holes in the bins for no reason.

Can you provide some pictures of where and how you applied your sealant? I placed an order for mine and just have to have some ideas before I assemble and place on the bed.

Or any other ideas anyone has used to seal up any spots on the perimeter.

Can owners with the evo sport and evoa get some pictures from the driver seat looking out through the back window? I want to see what the visibility is like. Trying to decide between security and visibility.

I thought about uploading these the other day when someone was asking similar questions. Below are a couple of images of the Evo Sport. Note that cameras can manipulate light a little better than our eyes can adjust to. The dark appearance of the rear-view picture is a fair representation of what you'll see imo.

I've got an EVOa, don't expect much visibility. Ret42's rear mirror view is about the best you'll see at mid day with bright sun, ...if it's not even darker...

If the visibility on the evo sport wasn't good, I'd probably go with the evoa and save a little, but it doesn't look too bad so far. @ret42 thanks for showing the pictures
