No slides. i a going to try out these glide strips from Woodcraft i think though. about 3/4 thick and made of hard plastic the boys say just route out a grove and stick down in and it will slide nice and easy. still gong to apply some paste was to the bottom of the drawer. as of right now can slide tin and out with not a lot of effort but it def can be smoother.

also opted to just use my sprayer and spray some fast dry poly

Thanks that'd be awesome. I'm thinking about going with the skateboard bearings even though they would be overkill. Hearing there's no sag/lift when fully extended is making me rethink that idea since it'd be nice to save a little bit of weight where I can.

I painted mine with rust oleum oil based...has held up to mild leaks well. Any spar varnish should work if you want a clear wood finish. I wanTed black personally

    Just the basics
Thinking about using furniture joint connectors to mount bearings to the outside of my drawer and have them ride upon the urethane skateboard rails I already have. This would allow me to maintain my current setup without any further wood work other than drilling into the drawer sides. Anyone have an idea the inner dimension of the bearing? Think it's 8mm. Thanks.

I use those too and then a Therm-A-Rest pad on top.
Those are very handy for lots of things.

I use this memory foam mattress. It’s about 4” thick and takes up some room when folded, but it sure is comfortable.

Where did you get the sleeping pads? Did you make these yourself?

I ordered upholstery foam from Amazon. Custom outdoor covers from https://www.coversandall.com/

Was significantly cheaper than what the local upholstery shop quoted me.

This was a combined effort to learn how to weld, and make a zero wood system that will be water proof. Success. Not the cheap way to go, but it's pretty slick I think. Steel frame, dual locking 60" drawer slides, starboard top, and Sintra board for the drawer. Bolted through the bed bolts to hold it down.

^Awesome setup. How do you think the weight works out compared to wood? Obviously steel is a lot heavier but you also don't need nearly as much of it.

The steel part is fairly light actually. Maybe 60-80# including the bed supports. The starboard is very heavy. 3/8" probably weighs 100#. The drawer slides aren't light, 15# each I'd guess. The PVC foam board is half as heavy as the starboard at 2x the thickness. I'd estimate the whole thing at about 250lbs, enough to sag the medium duty Dakars by 1/2 inch. Luckily I have these +600# springs that arrived today. My main goal wasn't weight savings, but a solid build system that would keep my stuff dry
