What brand of synthetic motor oil, oil filter, air filter & special tools are you guys using

So since this will my 1st oil change since I've owned it (2017 TRD OR DC LB w/ 66,500 miles)
Any particular brand of synthetic motor oil or weight that is better than the other? Same question for the oil, oil filter and air filter? Any special kind of socket for the oil filter etc, if so which one should I buy. Are the more expensive brands really worth it, willing to spend the extra money if it's really worth it. Goal is to keep this truck and try get the most out of with proper maintenance. Thanks in advance!

 

Mobil one synthetic and Toyota filter for me. OEM filter for me is the best.

 

I was told that it doesn't matter what oil you use because 0w-20 guarantees it's synthetic. You can run the cheapest 0w-20 and change it every 5k miles instead of 10k miles. 10k is for ideal driving scenarios. If you idle, tow, put stuff on your roof, stop and go traffic at all, it puts you into severe use case, and the maintenance manual says 5k miles.

If you plan on using the cartridge stock system, then run OE filter should be fine.
I use spin-on adapter because it's easier I don't have to mess with o-rings and all.

 

I use same as above. Catch the oil on sale or get the rebate then it becomes cheap. Costco oil is an alternative if you want consistent bargain oil, yes it’s good oil. I buy the Toyota filters

But really any 0w-20 will be perfectly fine, whatever makes you sleep better at night.

 

Wally world oil and toyota filter. To change the filter i just stick an extension in the little drain thing and unscrew it like a regular filter.

 

I’m confused. So you don’t take the drain bolt out and don’t change the small o ring? Just unscrew the whole cartridge? Or I just can’t read properly.

You can just unscrew the whole filter housing, it's a bit messy.

That fumoto is interesting. I like the 133 as the drain hole points straight down.
