Planning a big trip to see parents in South Carolina from Socal, so about 2,500 each way mby a bit more with off shoots and sight seeing. I bought my 07 DCLB almost 6 months ago and it's been running great with almost 175k miles. My question is what would everyone do to prepare and what extras should I have with me for the trip?
Since purchase I've checked compression with a friend and everything was good. Oil/filter has been changed. I changed coolant but didn't flush, was planning on it but old fluid was clean. Just got new tires and plan on changing brake fluid. Got a soft top for the bed and plan on making a platform/bed in back. Bought spark plugs but current ones are still clean.. It seems to be running good so not sure what more I should do to prepare. After saying that I need to find a new spare to match new tire size.
I'll be bringing dog, GF, extra fluids, portable jumper/compressor, buying a tow/recovery strap, camping stuff, food, water....

When I get back I'll be looking into finding and installing front/rear gears and lockers. Don't wanna do that so close to a big trip and I've decided to re-gear and add front locker so need to save another 1k.
What am I forgetting or what would you add? I have about a month to prepare.

Also first post besides getting in a group buy for some new lights, worth the wait buy won't have in time for trip.

Water filter in case you run out while stranded? Bottle of liquor, first aid kit, flashlight/batteries. Maybe a battery pack for charging phone in an emergency situation/truck battery is dead? Tire patching kit in case of flat after spare swap.

All things that will not “go bad” if you don’t use them this trip.

I’m sure some other people will point out more stuff we missed lol.

Don't forget a ... Mini Compressor for tires ... plus the usual stuff.

I carry a lot of water all the time ... maybe 10 bottles of 1/2 liter each.

Actually I found a great deal on a ARB twin, also using that for lockers later, and I should have that mounted in bed before trip. Also have a dewalt jumper box and compressor I'll bring.

    Tire patch kit! Yes

    hmm lets see....

winch, sliders, skid plates, CMC, long travel, super charger, solar, chromoly cage

lol jk. Sounds like you mostly got it covered, I would just keep an eye on general maintenance stuff, and get some basic camping stuff. Water filter, flashlights, matches/lighter, battery packs, jump starter, bandaids, rope, traction boards, patch kit, zip ties.

Clean skivies. Us guys always seem to forget. Any time I travel, I always bring my own alarm clock. Been screwed by the one in hotels. Some basic tools, electrical tape, rags, handy wipes for any unexpected problems. Your favorite self defense item, bat, glock, machette, whatever. I think everything else has been covered.

Think about your morning routine, tooth brush, shaving stuff, expresso machine...
