Craigslist used tires

Hope everyone had a happy new year! I found a place that is selling used BFG's AT 265/75/16 in Houston with they say about "60%" tread left for $200 mounted and balance. What does everyone think about these prices? I got some Christmas money and was going to get 5100 with add-a-leafs. Then I was going to wait awhile tell my current tires wore out, but 200 dollars seems pretty good. What are yall's thoughts, what should I look for? ask for pics. i responded to one that claimed 90%. when i got there 88 miles later. yes two were and 1 was maybe 70 and another worn to about 20%. be careful, if close worth checking out. if far get pics, if they cant provide, dont bother.

 

What the most effecive was gagg wear on atire like that?

what??????also check the date code on tire.could be a 5+ year old tire and blow out cause a serious injury or something.not worth the savings imo.

 

Not a big fan of buying used tires.. you just don't know the history of them. They could be blems, second rate tires, re-conditioned tires, dry-rotted etc.. I wouldn't risk my life on saving a few hundred dollars, but that's just me.

How did this guy get so many sets of 60% tread tires. That's kind of suspicious.

 

I've had good luck so far. I spent $500.00 for wheels/tires from private party and once those tires wore out Im currently using m/t's I got for $140.00. Im happy with them, You have to be careful I agree but it can work for you.

 

prolly stole them from a used tire shop..

 

I've seen that add a few times. Kinda been wondering myself what kinda conditions there tires are. Driven by the place plenty of times looks like a make shift hole in the wall tire place. It's not Discount Tire.
