Hello guys. So ive long been a member here; and have always been one to lend a helping hand with random wiring threads. However; for some reason, most of the threads ive seen have been bench seat to bucket seat threads. I plan on swapping my 07 regular cab bench seat to corbeau seats within the next month. I will post some threads here that ive found very helpful for some information; but ive also been a little confused about some of the applications of what is actually “in” the bench seat; and subsequently how to make them work with an aftermarket seat

    1) it appears that the SeatBelt buckle receivers are different from bench seats to buckets; however since i will just be bolting my current seatbelts in place on the aftermarket seats; these seem more straight forward (aka plug and play)

    2) it appears the drivers side also has something else wired underneath it; but i am a little uncertain what it actually is without pulling it apart; so there lies Question mark number one

    3) ive seen that the passenger side has a passenger side occupancy sensor (4 of them to be exact?) and this is accomplished with basically taking some metal and worm clamping it to the 4 rail sensors. But what about the “air bladder” that actually sits inside the seat? It confuses me how/if these are intertwined

    4) it also appears theres a yellow plug underneath the passenger side that is for the airbags; and from what ive searched; you can just add an end of line device; aka a 2.4 or 3.3 ohm resistor. And Cut the plug from the seat air bag solder this all up to the plug connector.

sorry for the cluster of information but that’s exactly how my brain feels right about now.

I hope I can answer a few of these questions for you as I did the traditional bench to bucket swap.

    1) the seat buckle harnesses are different, and the only solution I and others came up with was to plug in the old ones with dummy buckles. I made mine out of some simple steel brackets I picked up at home depot. The buckles and assemblies are stuffed under the seats. On the plus, I don't have a chime if I'm unbuckled anymore.
    2) under the driver's side in my 2013 there were three things. The yellow airbag harness, the seatbelt buckle sensor, and a sensor to detect the position of the seat
    3) Yes, there is the air bladder thingy in the passenger side. You will have to remove it and put it into your new seats to make the truck happy and not go crazy from the beeping (also so the passenger has an airbag). There is also a second sensor on this side that detects the seat position. You can fool both of these sensors by taping a metal bar to them. I actually taped mine to the dummy buckles I made.
    4) yes, I have heard that you can fool the airbags with a resistor. I didn't do much research into this as the seats I got also had airbags and plugged right up. I did have an issue with an srs code and had to figure out how to clear that.

Let me know if you need more help/ clarification! Always down to help another member kick that pos bench seat to the curb!

Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed reply!

    1) i am not too worried about the seat belt plug harnesses because I will be using the bench seat harnesses (and buckle receiver) on the aftermarket seat; and they just bolt up. Had i went with an oem bucket; i believe the harness and buckle would be different.
2)ah i wasnt 100% sure if there was a SeatPosition Sensor(s) on the drivers side also. That answers one question for sure. I will use the steel bracket method for both the passenger and drivers side

    3) i guess that just leaves my questions to the airbag sensor Ohm’age. I can just ohm out the airbag itself and just add resistors to the oem yellow plugs

    4) does anyone know much more about the passenger bladder; and how/what the signal is? As in; is there ANY way to trick it instead of installing it into the new seat?
