Is anyone else having a problem with the bestop on the 3rd gen tacoma? After installing the bestop I realized it was to far forward and the tailgate didn't come close to the rear seal but luckily the front seal was big enough where I could shift the entire thing back and solve that problem. The bigger issue is the velcro in the rear to cover the zippers doesnt line up and the rear window doesnt clip into the tailgate cross bar because the window flap is to long and just flaps in the wind. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it. I have already contacted bestop and they sent me a second top but I am having the same problem.

    Bestop doesnt have flaps.

When I installed my bestop, I had the front rail centered. The rear rail sits right on 1/4 inch of the tailgate. Just enough to seal from water, but not so much that it makes lowering the tailgate a problem getting stuck on the seal.

Post some pictures of where you have it mounted.

This is where the rear velcro covering the zippers don't line up

I returned the one I had. You need to have a pretty big gap between the cab and the top. Use a piece of aluminum flat stock up front to better clamp it down on the cab facing bedrail. Make sure you are using the correct brackets in the back. There should be two sets. One set is for 2nd gen.

I'd just send it back now while you can. IMO they are not ideal on the 3rd gen. Could try their newer model, a softopper (owned by bestop now) or get a real topper. Mine was clamped down well, but because it sits slightly higher than the cab its a big wind drag at interstate speeds. Mine was dry as a could be, but that was about the only positive.
