    Hey All,

Our faithful 1st gen had developed a few rust spots (body, not frame) and was recently broken into so we unfortunately decided it was time to part ways and upgrade. We ended up with a 2016 DC Limited PreRunner. We don't off-road (I know that's heresy here on this board) but we are constantly hauling scuba gear, driving up fire roads, and doing some very light camping so the 4x2 is perfect for us. On the 2 hour drive home from the dealer last night it was such a more pleasant ride than in the Gen1 on the way up lol.

But my Tacoma journey so far is ( had an FJ for most of the time between the 05 and and 03 Tacomas with over 400,000 when I sold it).
2007-2009 - 05 TRD OR, AC (drove for 50,000 miles, sold to buy wedding ring)
2018-2021 - 03 SR5, DC (drove for 75,000 miles, sold due to rust and damage)
    2021 - ???? - 16 Limited, DC

Just to confirm the blind spot monitoring doesn't beep right? It's just the illumination in the mirrors? My wife's Mazda3 will beep at you if have someone in the blind spot area and activate a turn signal.

With us knowingly and intentionally putting salt water drenched stuff in the bed, any particular preventative steps you'd recommend to keep the salt water from eating the truck alive? It's a composite bed right, so I think the physical bed will be fine? Just wasn't sure about the hardware used to attach it. Also we frequently gear up on the tailgate, so sitting on it with an additional 75-100lbs of crap, any concern there?

The bed is composite, so nothing to worry about there, I'm guessing there's not enough salt water to drain out in any amount that'll cause much of an issue. If you're really worried about it, find the drain holes, and spray under them. Coating the frame in general is never a bad idea, I do it twice a year.

I know a lot of people do that in the Midwest/East Coast, i'll have to see if anyone in San Diego can do it or has heard of it lol.

    Like, so many.
I've put 250 pounds on the tailgate several times with no issues.

Just buy some cans of Fluid Film or something like it, and do it yourself. Since you're in San Diego, I'd just get one can and do the spots under the drain holes. It'll only cost you $10 and ten minutes of time.

I noticed mine only beeps is you turn on the turn signal. Otherwise it lights up.

Hey so question. For the 2016 models, are there holes/mounts in the rain gutters for roof racks or do you have to use clips over the door frame?

Peel those rubber strips back, there are threaded holes already, for your mounting pleasures.

maybe a setting. I prefer the alert if turn signal on and quite when not turning with signal. Lane departure when on is bad enough.

The dumbest thing the Pistons ever did was trade away Chauncey Billups in his prime for A.I. past his prime. I don't even pay much attention to them anymore.

    2016s don’t have lane departure.
