Hello! New here so hopefully this is in the right place...

I purchased a used canopy on craigslist, it fits the dimensions of my truck bed. Problem iswith the weather seal window flange piece that is attached to the rear window and comes down and forward. I figured I could remove it...But it is ATTACHED to the glass (like, super on there...fear of breaking something trying to remove it), in addition to the locking mechanism being attached to it as well. Also, it has a chunk missing, and my tailgate wont close over it, or if the tailgate is closed then the rear window wont latch. Obvious problems here.

Anyone have experience modifying these? Its an old leer canopy. I was thinking of using a jig saw to trim it, and then getting a waterproofing strip for the bottom edge?

Photos attached. Thanks in advance for any suggestions (aside from buying a different canopy of course :))
