    Hey everybody,

I am just getting an early start on my intro here since I have not yet gotten my new truck, but have been lurking for a while and have found everyone's threads and input very valuable. Up until now I have only ever driven very old used cars that I run into the ground and after wanting a truck for a long time I am finally in a position to buy what I want.
Before this I drove mini-vans with beds buildout for many years which I grew up camping in with my dad and while I love those cars and still have one, it has finally gotten to a point where I keep wanting to go places I can't get to without 4x4 and high clearance at least, and now with my work from home being permanent, it only made sense to me to get a vehicle better suited to my free time needs.

I am in the middle of finalizing a purchase for a 2011 ACLB TRD Sport Tacoma, it has a tow package and everything stock, 80k miles, auto transmission. I debated for a long time on my options, I originally wanted the DCLB and a manual transmission with the TRD off-road, but found it difficult to find any DCLB AND manual in my price range or anywhere nearby really. Upon doing more research I also believe that the LSD will plenty for me versus the locking diff of the off road package as I plan to definitely go off road, but for me that mainly entails getting to hard to reach campsites, not doing a whole lot of rockcrawling or anything. I went back and forth on the AC vs DC but in the end I liked having the longer bed since I have been driving what is essentially a two seater van for years and never really needed to haul more people, plus I am quite tall and anyone sitting behind me would lack any room anyways.

I hope to eventually add some mods to the truck, but upon reading a lot of the advice on this forum it seems the consensus is to drive things stock for a while and see what I really end up needing as I am definitely one to go overboard and then not using things to their full potential. I am by no means a mechanic but I have been doing general maintenance on my vehicles for a few years and have done some intermediate difficulty repairs on my older cars and hope I can continue doing the same for this vehicle. I will post pictures as soon as I have title in hand.

Glad to be here and thanks for reasing
