Noticed today that when the truck is put into gear (automatic), I hear a clunk noise that sounds as if it's coming from the driveshaft (u-joints). Could it also be the carrier bearing that is bad? I just greased up the u-joints this past weekend after an oil change. I noticed nothing out of the ordinary. Any suggestions on what to try/look for??

Also have some clearcoat paint delaminating above the doors. It's pulling away from the base coat and is looking like someone painted it white! Had one estimate today for a fix that was $1200. I was wondering if this is something I could do myself. Not looking for perfection but just to get rid of that whiteness!!

I’ve been fighting driveline clunk for years. Mine is on acceleration from a stop right after releasing the brakes. Greasing the slip joint didn’t help - adding a second set of caliper clips seemed to help for a bit but it came back. I’ve pretty much given up. Feels like ass though.
