I seen today the price for the new 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro 4x. $37k wondering how many will be sold with that price for this truck. I may be test driving one when they come out.

If I was in the market for a small truck I’d consider it for sure.

If the base 4wd is like 30k I’d be interested.

I don't want to pay that much for a comparably priced Tacoma.

I believe the base price for the current 2021 Pro 4x is almost $38K, guessing the redesigned 2022 will see a significant bump in price and be above $40K.

Nissan has not released the prices for the 2022 Frontier yet.
My guess it will be priced to be competitive with other mid size pick ups.

Yeah the current old model Frontier Pro 4X is almost 38K, the redesigned one coming out is definitely going to be higher.

The redesigned ranger is the one I really like but fuck paying 40k for small truck. Its like we’re using Pesos now or something.

Until it is listed on the official Nissan website it is rumors. Then others can start quoting exact pricing.

You were asking about the 3G 2022 model not a 2021.

Tell me about it. My wife and I started looking at new trucks last year but didnt pull the trigger because we werent in a hurry. Started looking again in the fall and, man, truck prices are through the roof across the board, regardless of manufacturer. I really hope prices come down a bit this year, because there's no way I'm paying $40k for a mid size pickup.

I would guess the top level trim models will remain in the 40K range. I also expect dealers not to negotiate much off of MSRP till production can ramp up again. The chip shortage is not helping along with Covid. Prices will come off of MSRP when dealerships have a large quantity of vehicles sitting on their lot.

I was out the other day just looking at mid size trucks. It was interesting how few new vehicles were on the dealers lot. I for one will not buy till supply is much greater than it is today. I may want a new truck, but I don't need a new one.

Side note. If you think mid size trucks are expensive take a look at the full size prices on the upper level trims.

The bump in new truck prices has helped the used truck market as well. The Dealer where I bought my Taco a year ago is basically offering me what I paid a year ago. It’s tempting as I have two other trucks I use for ‘truck stuff’ and I sometimes miss having a 4Runner. For now though I’m keeping my Taco.

And the Nissan resale value is terrible.

They are benchmarking the Tacoma (TRD Pro, no less) and not being shy about it. Forward to 7:28 and then 11:43

Resale value is not as high as Toyota is true. Yet those buying a Tacoma pay more up front. You would expect a vehicle you paid more up front to resale at a higher price.

I have had two Tacoma's and two Frontiers. Both have served me well. I have no complaints with my current Frontier.

The Nissan 3.8 and 9 speed trans that comes in the 2nd gen Frontier, is going to reveal the 3.5 Tacoma engine for what it is, an engine and trans combo that doesn't do anything well. Which is why the fall back answer is get a tune.

It's interesting that Nissan decided to release this drivetrain in the 2020/21 models. I didn't pay $38k which is MSRP for my 2020 Frontier Pro 4X which is now gone. The rebates where pretty good.
