Did a quick search of the forum and I saw this issue come up for others when stopping, but I've got the opposite issue. I recently started noticing an odd pop/clunk sound when I'm accelerating from a dead stop. I took it for a quick spin on the freeway to see if it also happened when I accelerated to merge or pass, but it didn't happen - I'm only hearing it when pulling away from a stoplight, etc. Any ideas what it could be?

Check the torque on the axle bolts would be my first thought.

sounds like front brake pads moving a bit when you take off. Make it happen, then Try stopping with your e-brake, then accelerate , see if a change..

That is what was happening with my truck. I’ve read every thread about “brake slap.” No real cure beside changing out the pads.

    ...stuff
I think that’s only an issue when switching from reverse to drive... stopping while moving forward and then letting off the brake should not cause the pads to move.

I see you have a 16. Do you have a lift, especially a spacer lift? Wondering because axle wrap is an issue with spacer lifts especially in the rear. The pop/clunk could be coming from the looseness of the u joint on the drive shaft at the carrier bearing and the rear chunk. Just my 0.02 worth.

Check the front passenger body mount, the 16’s had issues with them being damaged when they put the cab on at the factory. Mine was driving me crazy, almost to the point of getting rid of it until a knowledgeable service tech heard the issue during a parking lot ride-a-long.
