For any newbies I wanted to share what I've learned in the last week regarding getting maps on my 21 Tacoma dashboard. I was initially determined to make my maps button on dashboard functional, but gave up.

    1) No reason to fuss with Scout GPS because it will require USB connection just like android auto, and android auto is superior product. Install directions are terrible and I never did succeed, so don't waste your time.

    2) Android auto will display maps on your dashboard but ONLY when you are connected by USB to the port under the radio (not the one in the center console box or other)

    3) Some folks are buying this 3rd party product for wifi connection and say it works: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/

    4) With Android 11 release they are claiming a way for android auto to display maps using Wifi but only on car models that support it. This is where I'm putting all my efforts now. Have not found anything yet that says yes/no to ability to do this with 21 Tac.

    Peace out.
