    Hey Everybody!

I am looking to purchase a first gen tacoma as a secondary truck but secretly with hopes of converting it to an overlander. I have found a first gen that is in good condition and fits my price range but it is automatic. I would prefer a standard but wanted to know if an automatic is not preferred for Overlanding. How is the first gen automatic transmission? is it just preference? I would love to hear your experience

I say go with the manual, but I'm seriously biased against autos. ;)

    4 cyl or 6 cyl?

    4 cyl + auto = disappointment
