That wasn’t a third time, that was just me tagging a couple of close friends in the thread.

I got hit in a parking lot in September 2020, saw it happen, and called out the woman who hit me me; The woman driving the car was not the owner, but the owner was nearby and she was not happy that I decided to contact her insurance company.

Anyway, her insurance paid to replace my bumper, and all was good until I noticed some purple scuffs on my front bumper in January-February 2021; I have no idea how they got there.

The crack in the bumper mysteriously appeared a few days ago, and everyone who has looked at it says THERE’S NO WAY IN HELL IT WAS CAUSED BY A SHOPPING CART!

My truck has sustained damage to the front bumper three times since September 2020, and it was replaced after the first incident; The replacement bumper was the victim in the second two incidents.

Officially less than 300 miles to go until 130K; Between DoorDash and the trip out to Raceway Park tomorrow, I’m probably gonna hit it this weekend!

    3C94B855-16B2-4A86-BA5E-1BC24F7581BE.jpg

My mechanic is booked solid through Wednesday, and I have work, so the truck won’t be getting an oil change until next Friday morning; Considering that I’ve gone about 8,000 miles between oil changes on full synthetic before, I do not think this will be an issue...

The HVAC blower in my truck just suddenly started cutting out a day or two ago, so I stopped by my mechanic thinking the blower motor itself was failing; This is what we found...

So the problem has been solved; I bought new OEM parts at the dealer and my mechanic is going to install them for next to nothing. I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Thompson Toyota is like three tenths of a mile from my mechanic, so I drove to the dealer to get the parts, and when I bought them the parts guy told me that there was a bulletin for that specific part due to the connector melting.

As of right now, my HVAC works, but it cuts out at random; My mechanic has given me a “don’t use the A/C or the heater unless you have to” order. Luckily, it’s gonna be in the high 60s and low 70s in my area for most of next week; The blower is getting fixed next Friday because my mechanic has to order one part the dealer didn’t have, and I already had an oil change scheduled for next Friday anyway...

And yes, apparently this is a somewhat common thing because Toyota has issued a bullet to replace the wiring harness for the resistor...?

Ridiculously common problem. You can buy new pigtails (connector + 4-6" length of harness) from the dealer, almost guaranteed to be in stock due to how common this is.

Already got the parts, but not so good at splicing together so my mechanic is doing that when I bring it for an oil change...

That isn't a short circuit. That is a burned wire and connector due to a loose fitting female to male connection acting like a heater.
    Just to clear things up.

Yeah very common I fixed mine for practically free, went to a junkyard with the old plug in hand and found a harness with better connectors and a higher temp plastic that fit the motor, it came out of a Honda of some kind. Haven't had an issue for a few years.

If my transmission ever goes, should I do a manual swap?

GM wiring strikes again. The entire HVAC system on our trucks is a GM Delphi special, including that section of the wiring harness.
