I just got a 2012 Tacoma with 14000 miles on it. Some regrets not getting one with power windows, doors etc and locking diff. Im in New England and Its super hard to find a good manual. There is some surface rust on the welds and a few other places on the frame but its in very good condition.
Very odd having roll up windows in this day and age, but there could be a plus to it.

That’s awesome. I note you commented on no locker. If you want an upgrade that is really useful (especially in snow) put an Eaton Truetrac limited slip in the rear diff.

Thanks guys. Manual and single cab (hard to find around here), hopes of 4 wheel'n
Sounds like you guys are happy with you rigs, nice too to hear people actually like manual everything.
I checked out the Eaton LSD and that is brilliant, lsd in normal conditions and when the wheels loose grip it engages? Just have to open pumpkin and axles off to install it.

    They are fun trucks.

My guess is that combo is hard to find anywhere. Lot's of people look for it, especially with that kind of mileage.
Even here with the amount of Tacomas we have in this state (Hawaii), it's hard to find a good used reg. cab with manual in good condition.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on a great find

Sounds like she's a sweet one. I love simpler vehicles!!!

More pics whenever you get the chance. I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to seeing more pictures of your Tacoma.

Thanks folks, I really appreciate the uplifting remarks you all made. It was the most I ever spent by a long shot and I wanted it to be good = Toyota.
I loved the 1sr gen with that 2.4L I hope the 2.7L will take a beating too.

The guy before me was such an idiot, he removed the engine skid plate, so I have to find one of those (its stuff like that that makes me question maintenance). Por 15 a few surface rust spots on the frame.
All and all its a Toyota 4x4 truck sure I have a few things to do, buts whats one thing we all have tons of right now??

One of my neighbors has a 3rd gen double cab short bed. This morning when he started it up I could immediately tell he just modified the exhaust because it sounded like a hammer hitting a coffee can.

Got me thinking I wonder how many tacos are near by. On my way to get coffee, I counted 6 before going 1 mile. I see 2 close by with the step side bed.

Thats funny you say that I was just thinking of getting a magnaflo muffler, not sure if will rattle your coffee cup. But that reminds me thats such a simple mod and it should sound like a truck!

Nice truck! I drove a 5-Speed Mustang GT with manual windows and door locks for 10 years. I had a Nissan 4x4 truck with all manual options too before that. There's something to be said about keeping it simple. The only real thing I didn't like about the manual windows was it was difficult to reach over and roll down the passenger side window. These trucks appear to be pretty indestructible, so even if maintenance was shotty before, I'm sure setting up a baseline from this point forward should keep you running for a long time.

I had a 1990 and a 1993 Mustang LX 5.0 5 speeds. Both only had A/C and a factory stereo. Everything else was manually operated. I loved it!!!
