All good points. Think I'm going for the drill and pin. I've got way too much time on this. Need to get back on the road. I like this truck too much to lose it. The comments give me more confidence that the pin will hopefully work. Besides, my wife is getting tired of "loaning" me my other car. TORQUE SPEC ANYONE ?? I GOT ALL THE WAY FROM 185 TO ABOUT 215. THE DEALER WON'T EVEN GIVE IT TO ME.

Measure the diameter of the bolt refer to torque chart. The surface area of the woodruff key is far greater than a pin think you asking for trouble

The pin is tool steel, no issues with it. You certainly can't just drill a hole and use an Ace Harware roll pin in there lol

I'm assuming you've got the hub still affixed to te crankshaft? If so, remove Rad, condenser, fan, oil-cooler, etc. Buy/rent a hydraulic puller (Not recommending that specific kit, 'though it is similar to the one I use, just including for reference) and a oxy-acetylene torch. Set the puller up on the on the hub, heat it HOT (dull red minimum at the front), quench with your favorite penetrating oil, and torque down on the puller.
