    Good evening,

No, this is not a story about a vengeful burrito, so read on...

Today (and yesterday) I decided to take on the maintenance of my Taco. Went to the dealer to have may frame inspected, and they were nice enough to provide me an estimate for the upcoming 60K mile maintenance that will be due. I got an estimate for over $1,500 to complete the 60K mile scheduled tune up stuff :spending::jerkoff:.

Figure I'll save an easy grand by doing myself since I have the tools and space, and ot's nothing I haven't done before on my previous cars.

Anyway, completed oil change, flushing power steering, plug, pvc valve, flushed transfer case, front and rear different. I found a present on my rear diff drain plug magnet, which surprised me :

So, any idea what internal part little disks came off off?

I am weighing my options, since I don't want to dive into my rear diff housing, but also don't want to nuke it either. Truck was driving just fine before my fluid change (ah, ignorance is bliss), and I'm leaning on just moving on for now. Would like to hear thoughts on this as well.:fingerscrossed:

    Thanks!

Those are from the drilling ops in the diff cases. Those will form when the drill breaks through the back of through holes, generally when drilling harder material (steel, stainless, etc..). They are normally flushed out at a later cleaning process but sometimes get stuck somewhere in the diff or axle housings and eventually show up at oil change time. As long as they don't migrate in the oil into the gears they won't hurt anything.

Yeah, this was a first for me, but I figured it was nothing since the truck hasn't has issue while driving. But good to have confirmation.

    Thanks for the quick response.
