Looking for 5 individuals to give feedback on the fitment of these before officially releasing them. They will be sold to you at what it costs me to have them cut, around $125. This will increase once I'm confident fitment is correct. I've only had the chance to install them on my truck and @m3bassman has a set and has taken a slightly different approach to my design.

    Problem
    PXL_20210204_215042305.jpg PXL_20201008_002222281_2.jpg

    Solution

    PXL_20210211_000634805.jpg

They are made from 10 gauge mild steel and will be shipped flat, straight from the laser cutter to your door.

    Tools:
    Welder
    Grinder
    Wire wheel
Dremel or 2" die grinder with cutoff wheel.
    10mm flare wrench
    14mm
    19mm
    C clamp
    Hammer

    Instructions:

    1. Remove coilover.

    2. Disconnect UBJ from UCA, remove the UCA

    3. Disconnect brake line at the L bracket.

    4. Cut off L bracket at the welds. This will be welded back over the gussets when done.

    5. Prep coilbucket for welding.

    6. Bend gussets to approximately 45° on a bench. Line the edge of the bench up with the tangent of the semi circle and the center of the bridge. Make sure you have the correct orientation and not upside down. The longer leg goes to the front of the truck.

    7. Set gusset on top of the coilbucket and use 3 bolts to cinch the top down flush. Manipulating the "legs" may be necessary to get past the frame while tightening the bolts.

    8. Bend the legs the rest of the way. Use a C-clamp and hammer to close up any gaps.

    9. Tac weld all around the weld it up.

    10. Weld brake line L bracket back on.

    11. Paint and reinstall UCA, coilover and brakeline.

If for some reason your bucket is wider or you would just like an easier install these can be cut into 3 pieces and welded from there. So far, a regular cab had a wider bucket.

The passenger side has the difference on it. Oddly Toyota did not seem to make an exact mirror from side to side of the manufacturing tolerances are pretty loose.

First 5 to comment below saying they are interested gets one of these spots. The usual turn around time is a week from the time the order is confirmed with the laser cutter to them showing up at your door.

    Orders
    1. @Jiveydude - In Progress
    2. @jubei - Ordered
    3. @drr - Complete
    4. @robblacktpre03 Ordered
    5. @ToyotaDriver Received

    Note:
*Modifications will likely need to be made to fit with the Total Chaos gussets.
**Will not fit 3rd Gen 4runner (The bolt holes are clocked differently.)

Disclaimer: I am not to be held responsible for modifications you choose to do to your vehicle, do at your own risk.

    That's really cool! Great mod.

Was just about to ask for my 3rd gen. You are right, the Clocking is off by like 15°. Maybe you can include both patterns in the upcoming production runs.

I have access to a 3rd Gen 4r now so hopefully I'll be able to get the dimensions soon and the only difference be the bolt hole locations.

    Hey Ryan, I’m interested.

I had planned on doing the TC ‘coil bucket’ gussets, but the fit was beyond terrible and I didn’t want to spend the time massaging them to fit. These look like a much better solution to the real issue.

    Are they 11ga thickness?

I'll add you to the number 2 slot and send you a pm!

They are 10ga, so slightly thicker than 1/8".

That is disappointing to hear about the TC gussets not being close. This worries me a bit that there may be variances between years in the buckets. I hope not.

    Thanks, Ryan!

I’m sure there is some manufacturing variance from frame to frame, but it seems like the TC gussets are just not that well-fitted in general. Everyone I know of that’s running them has had to do a ton of grinding and fitting to get them to work. On top of that, they seem to be a solution to a problem that most people never have (double shearing the UCA mounts rather than reinforcing the bucket itself).

I’m interested in giving these a shot, I was going to make my own but I’m happy to give some feedback on the design if you’d like.

The TC gussets we installed on @Digiratus truck were certainly not a great fit but weren’t too hard to make work. Also a lot easier with the engine out.

Having the engine out would have made that so much easier.

I’m sure the access issues are similar for these, but I feel like since these are actually addressing the more widespread issue with cracked buckets, it’s worth the trouble.

All right we've got 5! I look forward to hearing everyone's feedback and for those who might be interested once I'm satisfied with the fit on other trucks go ahead and add your name to the list below. If there's enough interest there's a good chance of discounts.
