    Hello all,

So I'm running into some issues regarding sound deadening on the front doors for my new 2021 Tacoma TRD.

I've always loved doing my own installs so I'm familiar with process, but of course I'm not a professional. At the end of my install I had some left over deadening from the doors, so I thought it would be beneficial to add a few strips to each of the interior panels. For the most part, the sound deadening is doing its job, but now I seem to be experiencing new, distinct rattles from the interior door panel themselves.

Did I make a mistake by adding deadening to the plastic surfaces?
To me, it almost seems like the strips of deadening I added have maybe intensified the problem areas on the panels?

Also, side note... I opted not to re-install the vapor barrier with that factory insulation... should I have tried to reinstall this? Thanks to all who can help!

I have never re-added the vapor barriers. You might have a clip or two rattling around in the door that came off when you put it back together.

The rattles sound like they are coming from the door panels themselves... like the area around the door/window switch box. When I lean my knee on the door on that area, the rattles seem less.

only other thing I can think is that maybe it isn't back on 100%? Sometimes when adding the sound deadener there isn't as much space to push it back together and it can take a little effort. I am guessing you might have tried that though....

Hopefully someone more helpful will swing by.

my guess would be the wiring harness connectors for window controls tapping the bare metal (where there used to be padding), or tapping plastic panel. Maybe tape them down better or wrap em in foam.

This right here may be it. Try wrapping the harnesses with some Tesa Tape or even a piece of foam to pad them as they move around

my rattle came from passenger rear panel where the seat belt was. I did few
layers of Kilmat and that seem to help
    it
