Is that the first damage ? You always get some kind of bruise and I would just keep it that way . Might help to keep the bad away .

    Door switch trim panel.

From the looks of the picture, it appears to be the driver side rear door. In that case, the part number is 74272-04010-B0

First of many "beauty marks" IMO. They are a fact of life if you drive the damn thing!

Consider it your contribution to the truck's patina. :)

Unless you spend a lot of time in the back seat, why spend even $43.79? On the other hand, if I had a '21 with 13K miles, I might spend $43.79. Looking at my '17, there are enough scratches, dings, and WTF's that I've mastered the response -- "What the hell! It's a truck."

Tacomas are generally very durable and many seem to last forever but their door panels aren't worth a Sh_t. They scratch if you look at them wrong.

another easy way to destroy the trim is to rub lotion on them

I’m just gonna tell myself that the only reason you know this is because of your wife. There’s no other reason for a man to admit there was ever any lotion in his truck.

The grayish paint has worn off on that spot on mine from my knee always resting against it while driving. I was going to complain about it to the dealer as a warranty item, but elected to leave it. I've considered getting some interior carbon fiber pieces to cover it or possibly remove and paint them to match the truck.

In my case I probably could have argued that the paint shouldn't have worn off from my sweaty knee:rofl:. In your case, anything's possible, but you might have to dealer shop to get it approved. The worst they can say is no. Give it a try.

edit: You could probably get it covered under warranty.
