I have a full set of victory 4x4 skids. Font, mid, t-case, & gas tank. I just got the recall notice for the fuel pump. I figure I'll have to take off the gas tank skid for them to make the repair. But will I need to take off the rest of the skids? I'm assuming they will just need to drop the tank and not anything else up front.

Got mine done today. Didn’t remove any skid plates. Pick up the truck tomorrow and make sure they put all my skids on.

Probably don't even have to remove the tank skid. Unless they're super Rusty and don't want them stripping the nuts. Could turn that into new tank straps though, depending on how persuasive you are.

No man! The gas tank is the only thing that needs to be removed

short answer probably yes, the dealership (unless you get lucky) will use any excuse not to do a warranty job, i was told i had to remove my after market bumper to get the radar recalibration and water proofing done, btw the bumper is low profile and in no way is blocking the radar or changes the work required for the radar to be popped out. they didnt even look they just walked out saw an aftermarket bumper and walked right back in and said they could not do it with aftermarket parts installed on the truck. better safe than sorry.

*I* would drop the gas tank skid, because *I* wouldn't risk them touching it, reinstalling with impact, stripping bolts, etc.

It could come out perfect. Or not. Totally dependent on the tech you draw and his appreciation of aftermarket parts.

    Do you feel lucky?

I risked it, and left my M.O.R.E. aluminum gas tank skid on. No problems whatsoever. :notsure:

Just had this done last week and the service writer said that they go through the seats. Can someone confirm this?

Maybe for a different vehicle, but for the Tacoma, they drop the tank. That's why you're required to bring it in with 1/4 tank or less.

I would remove anything in the way of the tank. They will just ugga dugga it right back on.
